There is one for sale up the street from me. I think it's a 2011 IIRC. Has some mods like fender flares, a lift, aftermarket front bumper and probably a few other things. I can check it out tonight when I walk Ava if you want some deets.

I was not aware that Plac had purchased a jeep and now goes by Chemy.

Yep failures have been popping up for months. Those welds are horrific and structurally deficient. I'm guessing this was welded on by a machine that wasn't set up correctly, or a step to clean/prep prior to welding was omitted for some reason.

Yea this has been an issue for a while. There has been an unofficial guide for "bad welds" that was released a while back as well. Seems like it was a FMY issue that has been corrected since.

I'm sure it was an early production issue due to cleaning, a robot not setup properly, etc.

Yea there are quite a few complaints about "loose" steering, I wonder what the :dill: is here. It is a pretty serious oversight that is downright annoying, but some people are going all out saying BUY MY CAR BACK, it is ALL WELDED WRONG AND THE WHEELS WILL FALL OFF AND CRUSH MY UNBORN CHILD. WORST COMPANY EVER. The usual forum internet strongarm BS.

People are morans.

Could it lead to crashes? Yea. Absolutely a serious oversight. But calm down people, they'll fix it.

:howdareyou:
“It kind of felt like it was wanting to drift to the right even though I was putting steering input to the left,” he went on. From there, the traction control, brake, and service electronic stability control lights popped up on the dash.

Once he exited the onramp and got onto the highway, Stevens says he had to keep the steering wheel at a 45 degree angle just to keep the car straight.

He was able to limp the car home, though he admits that, in hindsight, this “probably wasn’t wise.”
“I do not trust my vehicle’s integrity,” he said, going on to tell me that he’s worried that other welds on the vehicle might also be compromised, and that that’s why he’s insisting on a vehicle buy-back from Jeep.

I am pretty sure a JLU is my next move. I will wait until 2020 to let all of this fun stuff^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ shake out. It appears that a Rubicon outfitted with all of the right stuff is $54K MSRP. Go to 5% below invoice, which appears to be what many dealers are selling for, and then add in Commiefornia tax, and you are at.....$54K, for a Jeep.

Thing is though, there just aren't any comparables really.

The Punkn color is cool but I think I prefer one of the shades of despair on that particular vehicle.

Fun has been shaken out already. I like how we’re back to $4 a gallon and not one person is anything other than :aintcare: I suppose the hurdle will truly be $6 a gallon or more.

Also for a long term vehicle I’m realizing that the fart absorbing seats are key. Most leather looks like garbage by 5+ years and tears into nothing at year 7+

How are you getting to 54k? Those fake metal bumpers and every box checked ?

The one thing it's got that nobody else (that I can think of) does is the serious 4x4 bits in a REASONABLE SIZE. Full size crew cab trucks are YUGE, same with Brahoes and Yukons,
