Yeah, it's getting close to freezing at night. I'm about two to four weeks early but I didn't want to lie on the driveway when the snow falls. Good to go!
Damn were still hitting 90s this weekend. Another month of summer or so

My parents in FL aren't complaining either. We are currently hitting highs of mid 40s to 60s for at least the next two weeks. Freezing rain hit us two Halloweens straight, I don't expect this year to be much different.

I didn't hear a peep from the onboard diagnostic 'puter about tire pressures not being read, VW loves to freak out about that condition so I was surprised Toyota :aintcare: . There's a way to enable the TPS that i've got on the wheels but I'll need to figure that out when I get the next opportunity.

Unfortunately for me and my newfound enthusiasm, they are not. Technically the Rav rolls on 255/65r17s (165mm of sidewall) and the Cammie falls short sporting a meager 215/55r17s (118mm of sidewall). I'm used to seeing about an inch less sidewall on the previous half dozen small sized hatches/sedans so to me that's quite a bit more :meat: to look at. :wrong:

It just looks like a Cammie should to me other than a bit more knobby on the tires.

I can't believe you have over 18K miles on this thing already in seven months?!

Know what, I was under the impression that the car came with a 3/36k basic warranty but it's 3/60k, so technically I'm just under half. Readings all in kms but yeah, 23k kms or something in 7 months is bonkers, and I don't drive today. This week I've only used it to haul the kids from school and to the soccer pitch for training. When I drive it's for two or three hours per trip. The Cammie helped me launch the pickup truck production start in GM/Oshawa and takes me to two Toyota plants in the opposite direction of equal distance at least once or twice per week. The major reason why FE is actually a priority when it comes to my car purchases. I still can't think of a better commuter vehicle and have no open issues to complain about, hoping the Cammie sticks around for a long time and I can eventually add something interesting to the stable eventually.

I hear that. I would likely try to maximize cashola via FE if I drove my personal car for work more, it adds up. 9/10 trips I am flying/renting cars though, so it's not much of a factor. I may even rent a car to drive to Raleigh and Atlanta markets once I have the BRZ, I can't imagine it's all that great for such things like the Cammie hybrid.

Yeah pretty solid buy, I kind of just walked into the deal because the local Yoda :dillerman: had one on allocation and it wasn't sold because most buyers overlook cars nowadays. it was a good time to say goodbye to the R from a personal standpoint, high mileage driving and performance cars don't mesh well unless a person is willing to :troywax: on the various aspects of car ownershit.

I actually looked this up because 255/65/17 would nearly have the side wall of my taco…. But it’s actually 225/235–65-17 for the rav 4… and it can come on 19 🤮

I followed up too, thank you for your attention to detail, that's correct they are selling 225/65r17 for winter tire package on the Rav, 146mm sidewall (not sure why I typed 255 :derp: ). Can't say I'm that far off with my setup, especially when they come equipped with 18s or 19s. Kind of the point I was trying to make earlier I guess, larger sedans have some decent :meat: on them when equipped with normal sized wheels.

Yep. I think the LE camry I had as a rental came on 17s. And some even come on 16s (hybrid LE)... Personally I am a small wheel whore... I have downsized wheels on my last couple of vehicles... :wap: I suppose. That said love the look of the new setup. I never understood this never ending chase of GIANT wheels.

Tesla Model Y comes with motherfucking 21s.... like :wtf:

Doesn't the 300S sport 22s? I damaged all four wheels in a near miss while renting one of those.

Unless the space between the brakes and wheels is being filled with a BBK I'm not a fan. I hated 19s on my R, they made no sense.

I've seen the 16" steelie setup on this car, it's comedic by today's standards but follows suit with the principal purpose for this car's existence. Quiet, comfortable and economical transportation... Dats it.

Yea the LE Hybrid is actually rated at 10% better than the others...

My dads 300S is rolling on dubs just... 20s... to be fair there is wheel size but there is also overall wheel+tire size. the 300 has a larger overall diameter than the camry... so I think the 245/45/20s still have some sidewall (110MM). However my M3... was rolling on 20s also and it had NO fucking sidewall. 265-30-20 80MM!!!

My taco in comparison has 186MM (265/70/16)

Yeah +110mm is :nice: on a car, under that really shouldn't be a thing, those M3 stats are :disgust: , but it makes sense, the car is about as big as a Jetta.
The 300 is kind of a tank, I actually really enjoyed driving that thing when I rented it. I really like them for what they are.
Camry LE uses the Lithium-Ion battery, Toyota is taking their time switching over and considering the pros and cons between Li and NiMH (SE and up), curious to see what Toyota will come up with for the next generation.
