Hit 1 year of ownershit on the M3 last month and got a summary from the BMW app.
Also took it in for it's annual service at Thompson which was just an oil change. So far zero issues.

That's a decent amount of miles. Figured you'd be a bit lower.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 1:01 pm Hit 1 year of ownershit on the M3 last month and got a summary from the BMW app.

Since the 'vid I've been doing about 5k per year. Probably go up a bit this year withmax225 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 1:51 pmThat's a decent amount of miles. I use window pasties that cost $5 that static cling.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 7:23 pmOut of its element. Had a little bit of build up under the snout by the time I got home.
Also, insists I get a sunshade for the rear window but of course the G series is the first time BMW doesn’t make one. Snapshades look nice but they’re pricey at $115. We’re using some sort of magnet one in the RAV4 and it’s alright but kind of droops in places. Any suggestions for
shades?

We had $5 ones from Amazon that worked well. Wet the window and they just cling to it. I could dig them out and mail them to you if you want.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 7:23 pmOut of its element. Had a little bit of build up under the snout by the time I got home.

Welp. The wife got rear ended the other day with the kiddo in the car. Everyone’s fine but she was freaking out. I was a few lights ahead so I flipped around and went back.
The way she called me I was expecting to see a pretty messed up rear bumper but the Rav took it pretty well. She was the third car in the chain reaction. F-150 driver rear ended a Highlander behind her who then hit her.
We were on our way home from the flooring store after getting a carpet quote for the partially flooded basement.
One catastrophe to another.

Glad it was minor for her and the baby. I’d have a hard time not going immediately into rage mode if someone hit me while I have our baby in the car.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 11:14 am Welp. Why didn’t they move off the highway. Seems dangerous afGberg2119 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 11:49 amI was in full onmode after she called but once I got to the scene and saw it was minor I cooled a bit. It was around rush hour so pretty much just slow moving bumper to bumper traffic. I had to drive up and park on the median (no scrapes) as it's kind of a smallish highway and it's where the wife was standing with him along with the other people. We got the seat out of her car and put him in mine.
As much as I hate the Rav, I don't think I'd allow myself to drive around with a scuffed up bumper like that. And I'd really like to get the M3 paid off before taking on another payment.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 11:40 amNot too bad… I would probably get a quote and pocket the money and trade that pile in a few years no one will knowGberg2119 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 11:14 am Welp. I drill it into my woman … pun intended. Do not get out after the accident and move off the freeway if possible. An insane number of people get killed here when they leave their car and someone reams them
I should probably do the same. Luckily everything was moving pretty slow.

I’ve seen some wild dashcam videos of that happening. Sad.

Glad everyone is ok. Shit happens. Make sure the other drivers insurance company pays for a new baby seat. Like buy one and submit to them for reimbursement. They’re a one hit thing like a bicycle helmet.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 11:14 am Welp. The wife got rear ended the other day with the kiddo in the car. Yep. We just got the new seat today. NHTSA and even Nuna say replacement isn’t necessary after a minor accident but the wife ordered a new one anyway.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 3:26 pmGlad everyone is ok. Shit happens.
