I'm expecting the indy shop to be around 150. $230 seems excessive.

I'm also pretty sure I've got a warped rotor on it too.
ORLY? I find indy's to be kind of pricy even compared to stearshits unless they are hole in wall places using non oems parts.
IIRC they were very reasonable when I had them do a fluid flush on the :gorf: . I bought the fluid which was $28 but I don't remember them charging me even $100.

Welp. Doesn't look like I'm getting the shifter done anytime soon. BimmerClinic wants it the whole day which I can't make happen. They're too far away. :disappoint:

Dunno what else to do. Tyspeed is closer but they were nearly double and I have no idea if I can wait for them either.

At least when I eventually get midpipes, anyone can do it and it should take all of 30 minutes.

How many miles? Have AAA tow it there and back

 Bimmer Clinic is about 60 miles. Tyspeed 40.

Autobahn is only 12 so it would've been great if I didn't get a $1000 quote.

I used AAA to take my car from one shop to another, then from the second shop to my house all in the same week. Plus and Premier include 4 tows per year up to 100mi each.

Just seems like such a hassle :doe: . All that for a shifter.

M3 is now certified dad car.

Daniel Ian Greenberg born 12/10/24. Little man has been a pretty chill baby so far but it’s still exhausting.

Grats breh!
I spy all season mats which are obviously a must. Also how far do you have to move the front seat to fit the rear facing ? That was the somewhat downfall of the I4 I had because it would have to be 1/2 way up to fit. And the woman was bitching in the front

Thanks! Woman is actually fine in the front. I don't think I moved it forward that much but I have it so there's about an inch or so gap between the backrest and the car seat. She's on the shorter side but definitely more comfortable in the BMW than she would've been in the Golf R. Practicality!

Congrats bro! Glad to see you named him after me :mahman:

Adelaide was born on 12/8 so we're majorly :dock: on the life disruption/dad life. How's sleep for you? Adelaide sleeps at night from like 10-3 and 4:30-7 typically, so it's not really bad on that front. That said, I am pretty much struggling holding everything together and miss getting to do things I liked doing.

They don’t have you waking her to feed every three hours overnight? That’s awesome. The first month they wanted us to feed every two hours during the day and every three overnight. It was brutally exhausting.

Sleep's been kind of rough for a while although we're finally starting to get into a rhythm. Since he's been drinking 4oz every feed the pediatrician said we can stretch feeds to about every 4 hours which is nice but sometimes he can go longer or shorter by 30 minutes. I'd like to get that 4 and a half hour stretch overnight but he seems to do that in the afternoon most often. Feedings and changes have been relatively stress free as he will let us know immediately.

Similar thing here, she is now having 4-5 ounces of milk per feeding. Usually like every three hours give or take by day and stretching as long as she'll allow at night. We did get some pediatrician advice to do the strictly every three hours overnight, other people said she's past her birth weight, NBD. :iono: I starting to buy into the never wake a sleeping baby thing.

The wife is pumping and we've had :tits: milk exclusively, haven't used formula since like day three. The pumping is kinda the worst, I feel like it would've been easier to nurse but what do I know. She is constantly complaining about how hard that is and I'm trying to be supportive and compassionate but also kinda like... I'm working, doing half the feedings and changes, most of the house work... :iono:

Also, the amount of dish washing is just insane, the entire counter areas are covered with bottles and pump parts and I'm just doing dishes for two hours a day.

Sorry I'm taking over your thread to rant :lolol:

:lolol: It's alright. We've been formula since day because of the surrogacy but I've gotta imagine nursing and pumping is very difficult on the wives

As for bottles, this is the best $300 we've ever spent. I questioned it when the wife bought it but it's far and away my favorite baby thing. We're using Dr Brown bottles so every 4 bottles I just turn this thing on and I've got washed, sterilized, and dried bottles in an hour and twenty minutes. We're using distilled water in it for now so we've been stocking up on it but you don't have to use that.

Ah that’s good she’s already back over her birthweight. Hopefully you’re good to go on the not waking to feed. That certainly makes life easier.

Re: dishes, if you don’t have a bottle sterilizer, I’d grab one. There are fancy ones that wash and sterilize for you. We did a cheap Dr. Brown’s one that just sterilizes. So quick hand wash, then toss in the sterilizer. Helps to make things easier, but you’ll still have a fuck ton of dishes for for a while

I guess we should :troywax: on the Baby Brezza washer maybe, :tits: has been trying to talk me into it. I guess I felt like it's all kind of equal work, breaking them down, loading them into a machine, etc.

We have the Baby Brezza formula Kuerig :dill: we got on Marketplace for $50 which we used for a day :lolol: Now it's just taking up counter space. At this point I am somewhat hopeful that we just move to formula in the not too distant future, so I'm sure that'll come into play eventually.

Credit where it's due, the wife is really trying hard on the pumping thing and it is very demanding. I'm sure nursing has it's own challenges as well. It's just sort of killing two birds with one stone when she gets all stressed out that she needs to pump and feed at the same time. Easy for me to say as a :wrong: male.

:tits: is right. :doit:

The wife ended up buying a specific bottle drying rack but we never use it because the washer does everything. There are zero bottle parts on the counter.

Bottles are few and far between for us now, Michelle has been able to keep up with on demand nursing which is :impressive: I just threw the bottle sanitizer and warmer into a cupboard on Sunday when I was cleaning the kitchen. They’ll come out once in a while, but it’s nice to not need them multiple times a day now.

Lot of #dadlyfe in this thread. Congrats Gberg!!

If any dads in here are having a tough time and need to talk, I'm always down to call / text / video call / email or whatever. Just send a PM.
Things certainly get a bit more straightforward once you get your sleep back. Other than that, things don't necessarily get easier, the challenges just change.
