10/10 will watch again
But it’s pretty much right. You buy a vehicle like that as a workhorse. That’s what our CRV is. When the second little one comes, even that big ass vehicle will be too small for road trips with the fam fam and doggie.
I might be in the market for one of these in a year or so. Or the highlander hybrid for far better fuel economy. Not sure why the pilot is so bad on gas.

I literally told the woman let’s buy a pilot as a throwaway suv and she looked at me like I’m crazy. Called them “embarrassing” after all the other cars we’ve been looking at.
Yay … I don’t mind it in the trail edition or whatever in bright ass blue. But then again it is a rebadged odyssey so I get it … but I also think it’s super utilitarian and decently priced

You can’t dangle a Range Rover in front of someone and then tell them JK let’s go buy a Honda.
The Pilot used to be a pile of shit imo. Dumpy transmission, shit electronics, and all the attractiveness of a Peep that had been microwaved.
But now it looks good, acceptable electronics, supposedly drives nice, good AWD system with the iVTM-4, and still a simple vehicle. It’s a winner for a family. The only drawback is the Highlander hybrid slays it on fuel efficiency.

“Embarrassing” is a funny way to describe it, but yeah, it’s def not a Fendie or Rangey.
Funny enough I kind of wanted to consider a BMW SUV versus a Wrangler and thought it was too ostentatious and that it would make her a target for homeless.

We max the CRV out on road / overnight trips when it’s the three of us plus the dog. We are going to have a very hard time hauling another kid in those cases.

It's my costume for the "nightmare before Christmas" party. I'm a Costco with a line around the building since the movie is too FKin creepy for me to even watch

Oooohhh, I gotcha. I thought you were talking about the Pilot.
I liked the vid. It outlines the major issue with luxury suvs and why I’m so hesitant to actually “purchase” one. As clearly indicated by 30k repair bill for a disconnected tweeter it’s just absolutely insane once you actually do the
The x7 he pictured imo requires 500-750k gross annual income to comfortably own. Once you get past that threshold obviously not as much of a financial drag. Fuck you money doesn’t care though. Which is why land rovers exist.
But yet … ignoring all the things that luxury suvs do better than say a Honda is a slippery slope. You start with a 120k x7 and you end up in a donkey cart with a squeaky wheel. They are all money wasters it just depends on your budget. A new pilot is hugely expensive as well, as used ones are worthless.
