Works just fine. No complaints.
Using an impact to break em loose is kind of not the name of the game imo. I generally go by hand then screw them loose with the impact.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 2:08 pm Also, one downside of having black lug bolts is that the impact wrench really beats them up. Coating is starting to peel a bit so I’ve started breaking them by hand again which kind of defeats the purpose of the impact.
As annoying as those VW caps could be I’ve always liked how they cover the lugs.
My black lig nuts are fucked and rusty water pools in the lug holes.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 2:08 pm Also, one downside of having black lug bolts is that the impact wrench really beats them up. Yeah that’s what I did the rest of the way. It still helps speed up wheel changes and I guess it’s nice to have if the dillerman ever blasts them on at 200 ft lbs.max225 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 2:17 pmUsing an impact to break em loose is kind of not the name of the game imo. I just clean the wheels every week
I lined the inside of the socket I’d use on my lug nuts with a thin layer of electrical tape and it helped the scratching a ton.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 2:08 pm Also, one downside of having black lug bolts is that the impact wrench really beats them up. Doesn’t hurt to hit the outside of the socket too if it can rub on the wheels getting into the holes for the lug nuts.
I need to finally buy one.
I've had my HF 1.5 ton aluminum jack for over 10 years and never had a problem with it. I only upgraded to the 3 ton because the M3 weighs a good bit more than the VW's. After the usual coupon I think I paid around $130 for the 3 ton.
Yea my 2 ton 20 year old Walmart jack is not giving me a good feeling lifting the 5700ix. It also doesn’t go high enough to get the entire side off the ground.
My black BMW lugs looked like such crap I could not paid them with new ramz. I did the titanium thing. https://www.acerracing.com/collections/ ... 9tsheZAH4a. Nobody else will ever notice but it soothes my savage OCD every day.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 2:08 pm Also, one downside of having black lug bolts is that the impact wrench really beats them up. I didn't order black I didn't like the look so not coated.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 2:28 pmDesertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 1:25 pm

Your apex ramz are anthracite right? The silver doesn't stick out too much from a dark colored wheel?Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 3:25 pmI didn't order black I didn't like the look so not coated.
It seems like the overall dealership "tech" quality is completely in the shitter. I also hear that "lube" techs at toyota in particular are at minimum wage and have huge turn over. I think it's
Yeah, I'm done taking it there. It needs a brake flush too which they wanted $230 for. I never liked Team to begin with from buying to service butmax225 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:07 amIt seems like the overall dealership "tech" quality is completely in the shitter. I think it'sto try and save money by having the least trained and motivated people do a crucial routine service on your vehicles. Especially considering how much toyota engines cost. ($30k for a tacoma engine)
I think $150-250 for a brake fluid flush is somewhat reasonable. It's usually a bitch to do at home... tools and all.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:32 amYeah, I'm done taking it there. insisted because that's where her dad has always gone. No more. It's going to the indy place down the street from now on since we're long out of warranty.
I'm expecting the indy shop to be around 150. $230 seems excessive.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:46 amI think $150-250 for a brake fluid flush is somewhat reasonable. It's usually a bitch to do at home... tools and all.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:32 am

No the ramz are hyper black, so they are pretty matchy matchy.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 9:55 amYour apex ramz are anthracite right? The silver doesn't stick out too much from a dark colored wheel?Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 3:25 pm
