British car things
And
Apparently there’s only one guy/shop here on the west coast that specializes in these DBS with the inline six, and they had the car for quite some time, but they were just working on it here and there between other jobs, so I think some things got overlooked. It’s a bummer because I’m sure FIL paid good money for them to look it over and they had it for so long. But yeah, old British car things. Before he bought it, it had just been sitting in some showroom for 15+ years.

Sorry venting … but this sucks bad
The fucking worst. I’d take most illnesses over food poisoning. Hope she turns the corner soon.
I would struggle with that as well and certainly wouldn’t be expecting to live any differently because of it.
Hopefully they’re cool and don’t ever hold that over your heads in any way.
So far there hasn’t been anything like that. I made sure to write them a nice thank you card and send it to them after we got in and her mom called me crying when they got it telling me how nice it was and just how glad they were for being able to help us. They’re legit good people.
Didn’t get to drive the Aston. There’s something going on with it. The shop that did some of the work for him replaced the alternator, but the battery died, so one of the relays might be bad. We put the battery on a charger yesterday, so we’ll hopefully get it back out on the road today and maybe I’ll get to drive it.
Sounds like typical old car stuff, especially when it’s something rare. My dad’s Citroën was super cool but man, it was rare that it actually worked.

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.
So even though the old Contis still had DWS left in the tread blocks they were starting to wub wub and come out of balance. The new news are so fucking quiet and smooth again. Just needs H&R springs now.
That was my issue with DWS tires. I didn't MIND them much, but they are 5/7 when 100>70% and then they turn super sensitive to balancing... and tire noise goes up like crazy... at 40% they were some serious POS.

It’s amazing that this is still somehow hot.
I was just thinking how great it still looks.
Where are these mangos?
