There's no fun to be had in anything that isn't a sports car. Didn't you get the memo? Are you new here?
The memo says you should have both. Four post lift brah.
Ran out of fun money now that the wife is unemployed. I'll be lucky if I still have the JT in 3 mos.

I've been saying this for years, only to be told :wrong:

Get with the program pal, Trackdaybro or :gtfo:
I think more people support off-roading on this forum than not. So you're :wrong: about saying that others told you you're :wrong:
Tides have shifted I suppose.

I legit enjoyed the :manuel: in my JK. It was fun.

The :manuel: in the JL is just too...fake? Zero clutch feel, the shifter feels like a video game joystick (it essentially is), gearing is all wrong, it's just not great. Vs the 8 speed that's telepathic in gear selection, rips off shifts faster than any slushbox has the right to, and still manages to be smooth and easy.

Um... JL :manuel: is worlds better than the jk... The gearing is shit but the trans (throws+clutch) is way better. I do wonder why the gearing is so off... It's basically gear 1-3, and then 5th, because 6th is too tall. A bizarre driving experience. It is a 4 speed 6 speed. Gear 4 and 5 are completely useless.

What makes a :manuel: in a :truk: or :Jeep: "fun" is the mechanical feeling of it all, the JL has none of that. Just get the auto at that point.

The other issue is lack of torque. The 3.6 is really crappy under 2200-2500rpm, it feels completely gutless and bogs, a feeling absent on the AUTO.

:dat: I think the 2.0T feels a lot better, personally. It's too bad that it isn't an option with :manuel: but I wasn't getting :manuel: regardless, so whatever. Hopefully the motor doesn't :nuke: as I could see us having this car for 150k miles or more (if we ever actually drive again).

I can see it lasting 100k trouble free, which would be a decade for y’all if I’m guessing. I don’t think reliability is a concern on any new car

I think the motor is Alfa Romeo derived :notsure:

But yeah, who knows how long we'll have it. :tits: put 130K miles on the Fusion in seven years of ownershit :doe: so we'll see. Her commute now is only 12 miles round trip, but we will take trips to the mountains, FL, etc. in this bad boy.

No, the 2.0T is a ground-up corporate engine. Alfa uses a version of the engine, but it didn't come from Alfa. It's actually overbuilt for the power level in the JL. I wouldn't worry about durability one bit.

Have they not brought the hybrid renegade over yet? That's a perfect "fun" appliance.
