I logged like 90K miles in the diesel Ferd at my old job... it's not that great. Every gas pump is , dealing with the piss tank is annoying, maintenance ... I would never get a diesel vehicle unless I needed to tow something huge or whatever.

I’d only be interested in an older one before the piss tank...I’m just intrigued by the novelty of the old Cummins 24v, would be fun to tinker with since I’ve never tinkered with diesel.

12 valve FTW. Simple mechanical things that are fun to play with and sound

However, you could always do a 24 valve p-pump (mechanical inline pump) conversion.

Honorable mention to 03-07 5.9L common rail engines.

Just throwing this out there, but the Cummins repower program is really neat.

I'm okay with that. Need the kinks worked out being a brand new Ford with a brand new transmission.

I know this new Getrag is supposed to be modular with the ability to be a 5, 6, or 7 speed. I wonder if it is planned to replace the current Getrag in the Mustangs since those seem to be plagued with issues?
