Good morning all.
Girlfriend and I submitted an application for a new apartment (recently renovated in a complex), on Saturday morning. Was approved, within our price range. Will post some pictures. Just need to figure out when we sign the lease. We'll move in around mid-November hopefully, and that will give us about a two week wiggle room to have both apartments to move stuff. That way we're not homeless for a day when my lease is up at the end of November.
We looked at three places on Friday, and three yesterday. This one is all the way uptown instead of downtown.
Sounds 5/7.
Is it mama approved?
Haha, I suppose. And it has everything that we needed within our criteria!
We have, in-unit washer and dryer. Brand new stainless steel appliances (microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer with ice maker/dispenser). Juliette balcony so I can stick my foot out or jump off. Central AC/heat. Carpeted bedroom with ceiling fan. Alcove for a desk or such. Open style kitchen/living room. High ceilings. Pet friendly. Walk-in closet.
24/7 fitness center
outdoor area with grills, lounge chairs, umbrellas, first come first serve
entertainment area with a full blown kitchen, TV, couches, wi-fi, free to use, or can rent out for $300 for a private party
electronic package concierge
outdoor pool, open from memorial day through labor day
parking in garage, guest parking $10, or $20 overnight
rooftop lounge with beautiful views of NYC
free shuttle to PATH train, close to bus, good for girlfriend
a little closer for me commute wise, maybe about 5-6 minutes

That sounds and looks like a legit nice place,
How much? Seems quite
There is an amenity fee for $800/year., but split between the both of us it's not a lot. $2525/month + parking ($200). My current apartment is $2850/month + $225 parking. And I was paying $100 more for the larger room before my girlfriend moved in.
I'll be saving about $500 more per month. I think that's a reasonable compromise to still live in Hoboken.

That's crazy expensive but I guess it's a good for that area and the fact that you'll be saving $500/month in a nice apartment while ditching your roommates sounds 5/7. Congrats!
Where are these mangos?

I don't understand anything anymore.
Love how you said you could jump off the balcony if you wished to do so.

DFD. The forum where everybody makes the same choices and then tells anybody trying to join the club that they are the stupidest motherfucker to ever walk the earth.
Fairly busy at work today. Got a case early on and now finishing off my 15, going back to catch some more bad guys.

All in all he actually made a good decision.
Unless he forgot to throw in that mama moving in with them who else is gonna make the matzo ball soup for the little kindles?

Staples finally come out of my head in an hour.
Imagine TSA lines with staples in your head.

buddy has a plate in his jaw.. I always wonder how that works when/if he flies.. does he have to tell them? Do they use a special metal that doesn't set off the sensors? The world will never know, since I don't care enough to text him and ask.

I assume there is a second bedroom for mama, or that she'll share their bed more likely.
