I always recommend the most reliable boring thing I can think of. I once suggested a friend buy a Buick and the thing ended up a lemon, and that's all I fucking heard about.

Small cup of coffee in a paper cup with a lid.
My thumb literally covering the drink hole while driving.
25% of it still ended up flying out on my 25 min commute.
Coffee all over my center console as far up as the shift boot.

They’re minivans really. Boring but 1.5T is rather quick, AWD available, handle just as good as the CX5 with better space utilization and resale.
They could do a lot worse. It’s not a Nissan or a Mitsubishi.

That sucks
I don't even get free coffee.
But I also won't drink/eat in the truck. Not so much about the mess, I just hate not being focused on driving.

Bingo. She wanted something reliable, fuel-efficient, and with good cargo space. check, check, check. CX-5 is great but the engine is coarse and lacks the off-idle torque of the turbo motors, plus it has a smaller cargo area. After driving both it really wasn't a contest for her.

The CX5 with the NA motor is pretty sluggish. IMO it would be fine with more gears.

My last company complained about the cost of “free coffee” to employees. Had to bring in K cups. Same thing

Been in a bunch of them but haven’t driven. The older ones were awful for sure. The new ones are solidly not good in the suspension department. I’m always surprised by how poorly they handle road imperfections.

Been in a bunch of them but haven’t driven. The older ones were awful for sure. The new ones are solidly not good in the suspension department. I’m always surprised by how poorly they handle road imperfections.
The current gen is decent with its 15”/16” wheels. I never had any issues sitting in the back of one, while it goes through craters.
The gen before that usually has 200k miles on original suspension and a slew of other issues so they ride abysmal.

I've never worked at a company that didn't have free coffee... seems like a stupid cheap thing to provide to make employees feel more valued and be less tired.
We have decent stuff here as well as lots of tea options, including chai.
