I’d go with the Teraflex kit as well. Hawk LTS should be a solid pad option to go along with it.
Teraflex kit ordered, going with Wagner ceramic pads thru Advance. Hoping the BRK arrives before I go to Cali.

When are you headed to Cali?

July 12-14.
Getting a red-eye back on the 14th into the 15th.
Red eye is the best way to do it. That flight sucks either way might as well try and force yourself to sleep.

Yeah, that's the goal. Land in Philly at 7AM, gotta be at work by 9.
Oh ahhh yeahhh maybe only plan on a half day. That’s gonna be rough.

Narrowed down my tire choices. Wildpeak is out due to the LT tire losing the special silica compound that's better on wet pavement and winter conditions.
285/70R17 BFG AT KO2:
285/70R17 Cooper AT3 XLT:
They're within $50 of each other for a set of 5, similar weights - I have reason to believe the Coopers will be the better road tire and just as good off-road.
Thoughts?
I don't see how you can go wrong.
BFG has the name...might be worth that alone. The AT is iconic. I have zero experience with either tire tho.

Doesn’t it just make sense to buy a set of take off wheels+ tires and sell yours as is? Should cost about 1/2 of what a new set of tires would run you.

My research has proven the AT3 to actually be the slightly better tire than the KO2 - better in snow, better on the road, and equal in the dirt. My biggest complaint about them previously is that they just didn't look aggressive enough, but the new XLT changes that.
For your use, something with a more road friendly tread and aggressive sidewall look would be perfect IMO.

I enjoyed the K02s on my F150, but those were probably an older compound?
For your use I don’t see how you go wrong with the Coopers. Like you said I believe they will be the better road tire and should handle any off-roading you would want to do.
If not, I’ll pull you out.

Have you looked at Toyo Open Country ATIIs?

Almost $260/tire.

for no good reason.
Just placed the order.
Since I work at the diller, I was able to knock another $10/tire off. Got them for $214/tire plus the $70 rebate. So, $200/tire in the end.

What's the difference between just ordering a tan top?
Jeeponomics 101: Eternal tirekicking for the trigger-less Jeep

by ChrisoftheNorth
Yea....that could be seriously
It's actually not a bad value since it comes with the 7" screen and premium top. Add in the wheels (which I like quite a bit IRL), and it would be legit.
My biggest thing is I think the "heritage tan" is too light. If it was all dark saddle like on the JT then
I also haven't driven a 2.0t without BSG. Curious how that is as the new base engine. Still has more torque than the 3.6.
I'll still probably end up with a light options Rubicon. JL or JT.

You can see those results in the tread design, the road contacting patch looks like it is more of a road tire, but the sidewalls have a mud grabbing texture to it. They look neat too!

Also, brakes are done. Nice improvement in pedal feel and braking strength.
Rotors side by side.
OE.
Teraflex BRK.

Ideally what I’m looking for. Something good on the road that can gobble some miles, but still good off-road.
I ordered 5, they’ll arrive at the dillerzone on Tuesday. Hopefully I can bribe someone to throw them on.
In4updates on those puppies!

So the brake upgrade uses the same calipers, but different carriers that allow for larger pads on the larger rotors?
That's legit

Si, kinda. Not necessarily larger pads. I'd imagine someone makes a larger pad, but I just got new OE-sized pads.
Regardless, I'm impressed with the result. Better pedal feel and bite, and much better stopping power.
Oh wow, the pad looks larger after to before. Optical illusion.
Great that the results are so

JK's need that.

You need to tow things, no?
Unfortunately that would be the limiting factor. Gladiator costs too much right now, and I don't think the 3.6 would enjoy towing too much.
