just seeing all the cash on the hood of the 2018 inventory had me forming an itch and trying to scratch it. I really don’t have a reason to trade vehicles at all. If that Ace company does another solid Black Friday deal this year I’ll probably grab a bunch of shit and spend some time spacing out those installs and having fun wrenching on a vehicle again which will keep my interest rooted in the Jk.

I'm casually searching around for Mojito as #1 and Punk'n as #2.

Must haves:
- 8 speed auto
- Alpine speakerz
- Seated heats
- LSD
- Hard top

LEDs and hitch I can add later. But those are the musts.

It's funny how people's "must haves" can vary so much...and that's what makes it so hard to find a vehicle in inventory.

That's why I did, and would still order one. Even with so many on the lots right now, so many are missing things due to dealerbro cheaping out, or options being on allocation when they ordered.

If you're going 90% of the way, why not just order one and get it 100% instead of sourcing the remaining parts and installing them yourself and dealing with that on a brand new Jeep?

It took me 3.5 months to get my JL from the time I ordered it when production just started and that included the shipping time from Toledo to California. For you guys that number should shrink dramatically seeing that production isn't running slow and you wouldn't have to wait the 9+ days of the Jeep sitting at the rail yard in Toledo like mine did. I bet they can deliver to local-ish states within 2 months now.

As enthusiasts we all talk about voting with our wallets, so that’s what I’ve done and will try to continue to do. If I was really wanted to get into crawling, I’d 8 speed auto for sure, but for soft roading and general driving I’d rather row some gears.

This is how I am, just enjoy the manual, more for commuting than high performance driving. If I was going dedicated track vehicle I would want the actual best performing transmission which is usually an Auto now, but for day to day enjoyment, the 1930s tech is amusing.

I would def get a manual Jeep but I also just like jeeps for the cool looks, convertible, go anywhere deal. I wouldn’t actually “go wheeling” beyond getting to a good mountain biking trail or whatever. I went soft roading in my BMW last weekend and would’ve preferred something like a Jeep.

One plant and no dealers. You can go right to the plant and pick up your model 3. That's illegal in most States for any other OEM.

Well.... kinda.

They build up the cars in advance and store them, they have so few options they don't wait for a car to be ordered to build it anymore. That's how you can buy a new Model 3 and have it delivered in a day or two... If they don't drop your order in processing hell and tell you they already delivered it to you when it hasn't been delivered.

I think I've narrowed down my front end rattle that I can feel through the steering/pedals: Brake pad rattle. Gets worse with warmer temps or long driving periods, and goes away with pressure on the brakes, and isn't steering related. I had a similar issue with the

So, I'll pull the front wheels off tonight to check for the anti-rattle clips (which I'm expecting there to be none) - and check pad life, too. Probably going to throw a little at it and get some kind of front bigger brake kit while I'm attending to the "issue."

Looks like the first kit is dual piston and the second ins single? Is stock single? Seems a worthy upgrade - I remember the JKU I drove having rather underwhelming brakes.

The 2nd kit I'm not sure which calipers it utilizes.

3rd kit uses stock caliper, but uses a bigger rotor which allows for more braking leverage.

My concern is the need for a different master cylinder with more pistons.

It’s “cheap” because it’s FCA partsbin, the upgrade for the brakes is just ram 1500 calipers and lord knows they literally made millions of those

I'm leaning towards the Teraflex big rotor kit, personally. Less invasive, gives me a decent boost in brake stopping power, and doesn't require a bigger master, or removal of calipers and bleeding of the system.

I'll pair it with Hawk LTS pads and I can pick up the anti-rattle clips locally.

I’d go with the Teraflex kit as well. Hawk LTS should be a solid pad option to go along with it.

Probably the best route. Even the “big brake” kit is lackluster. If you get bigger rotors and better pads you’ll prob be at a very similar level of braking performance without spending much more and doing more work. Jeep will never stop well period
