I think that is why they added the "Classic" to the name, to differentiate it from the non-POTUS units also being sold.MexicanYarisTK wrote:Right? I could've sworn I was right to begin with, cause I remember it too.
I know it, shortly after having that rental, my high school buddy got the new Impala, and it is a night and day difference when I ridden in it. The shitty Impala is really a true NFG car, that's for sure.

VW is still selling the last gen Tiguan right next to the new gen one, same model year.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 2:58 pmhere's for VW, but assuming the previous Tig's last year was probably 2017.

And i got that wrong with the impala. The 2013 year is the last of the shitty gen, and the new one is 2014 (atleast what I've found on cars.com) I really thought that one was a 2013

2 door was a lot more fun to me. Just felt more willing to romp around and I personally liked the suspension better. The 4 door is more ponderous but has a better ride I guess. But really the back seat on the 2 door is laughable at best and there's no trunk space at all. Pretty useless vehicle. Contrast that with the Unlimited which has (IMO) quite a lot of back seat space and a very usable trunk area, the 4 door makes a shitload more sense for just about everyone.Apex wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 2:42 pmI checked out a 2 door Willy's. I really liked driving it. Wifey and I were discussing how we could make it work for us and we came up with some solutions. Dillerman was pushing me into a basic bitch 4-door sport doe and I walked out.SAWCE wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 2:35 pm
I haven't. I like how they look, but the functionality of the 4 door over them made me not even consider test driving one. Trips with friends like you said, more room for the s in the back of the 4 door, plus hauling kids to crawl at the mall eventually, 4 door was the only way to go for me.

The back seat of a 2 door has more room than my MINI, but that's not saying much, hah. Wifey and I were debating if we could fit our stroller in the trunk area of a 2 door. 4 door makes a lot more sense for pretty much everyone, way more room all around.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2017 9:03 am2 door was a lot more fun to me. I think the 2 would be a mess to try and deal with of you have kids.Apex wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2017 9:13 amThe back seat of a 2 door has more room than my MINI, but that's not saying much, hah. Two weeks in, and so far my only real complaint with the is the bluetooth. Music will frequently just cut out for a few seconds and then pick back up again. Calls are very quiet even with the speakers turned all the way off, and even if I toggle the call to come through my phone on the phone screen, the bluetooth system still takes over. I'm sure there is a fix for those things, I just haven't done any research on it yet to find out.

that 8 speed better be a good transmission compared to the outgoing gen. I finally saw the new tig in person, and it is definitely lot bigger than the ones i got close to in Turkey (aka european one)Johnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2017 9:00 amVW is still selling the last gen Tiguan right next to the new gen one, same model year.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 2:58 pm

I think they are making space (pun intended) for the T Rok or whatever that other thing they are trying to bring here... I didn't know they were but it is in the cards. It looks like an HR-V competitor...

How bad is the stereo compared to the VW golf. The 2015 model I was driving a few years ago was horrifying... basically sounded like absolute garbage, however, I think they added some speakers in the later years...SAWCE wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2017 3:00 pm Two weeks in, and so far my only real complaint with the is the bluetooth. Stereo is nothing to write home about. With windows up, I can comfortably listen to music at a level 20 volume (I think out of 35), and it's passable. Windows down/top off, forget about it. Volume at at least 28 to hear anything, and then you're getting crackling from the speakers.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2017 6:08 pmHow bad is the stereo compared to the VW golf. I was thinking about that too. from my understanding, it is to compete with their competition, hence the 3rd row, cause not many gets 3rd row, except from Rogue I believe. Looks cool, and can see some people may like it, but probably will end up as a niche vehicle imo.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2017 6:04 pmi was bitching about this...MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2017 5:52 pm

Anything with the 3.6 is basically 30k in 4 or 2 door trim. Some soft top crank window 2 door sport models are 24-5k from 2013-14 basically for what they sold for new, now 4-5 model years and 40-70k miles later.
The local diller is off loading a 4 door Sahara with bald tires for 30k, with 70k miles.
because I want one, but the only way to "afford" it is buy new and have it as my only car.max225 wrote:Anything with the 3.6 is basically 30k in 4 or 2 door trim. I'm hoping (not optimistically) JK prices will drop some once the JL sales level out. An early four door with 100k miles for $10k is something I'd entertain.

I agree, here is essentially the Atlas junior, kinda like the new C and E class, they look almost similar.

You can’t even get a tj for 10k anymore. I don’t expect jk prices to drop unless there is some kind of catastrophic event in the usD Griff wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2017 11:42 ambecause I want one, but the only way to "afford" it is buy new and have it as my only car.max225 wrote:

I'd agree that you're most likely right, but who knows, the market could change. Until then I'm slumming only.max225 wrote:You can’t even get a tj for 10k anymore. I don’t expect jk prices to drop unless there is some kind of catastrophic event in the us

I dunno... this is pretty crazy... It literally makes no sense that these things don't depreciate.
That situation would only make sense if the older units are somehow more desirable i.e better engine etc or if they have a shortage of new ones. However, you can get a new one for the same price it just boggles my mind.

Made the trek up to Big Bear Friday night, and came back down yesterday morning. is for little road trips like that. Suspension is comfortable enough, although I'm coming from a relatively low on blown out struts. Headlights were fine on the windy mountain road with no street lights. Michelle even commented on them since I'd been talking to her about the possibility of me upgrading them. "You really think you need more light than this?" And that's coming from someone who cares more about safety than anything else in a vehicle...
Brakes felt fine to me too the few times we came into a blind corner kinda hot to a line of stopped cars just around it.
On board computer said we averaged 19.2MPG for the trip. I should have filled up as soon as we got home so it wouldn't be thrown off by the bit of driving around town I did yesterday and my commute to/from work today. But I'll fill up tonight or tomorrow morning and calculate the real world MPG.
