Mmmm those calipers. I still haven't opened the boxes from Troy to see how the paint on the yellow calipers is holding up. I think they'll pop nicely on my car.
Yeah, that will look sick. I actually thought about yellow, it's the only real color that might look OK on my car, but I just couldn't get down with the Florida State paint scheme when I'm a UMiami grad.
For a mere 9 grand more, here is the ultimate example of that car.
Same shift knob as my car before I lit $120 on fire for a blue one.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:11 pmFor a mere 9 grand more, here is the ultimate example of that car.

Also, I'm getting the sense that you're down to match my $40 in Chris's crowdfunding effort.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:11 pmFor a mere 9 grand more, here is the ultimate example of that car.

I love the E39 styling the most, personally. Those sliding calipers though![]()

If this had 50k miles It would justify the price, but man that thing is CLEAN. This was the spec i was looking for when shopping for my C5 corvette a decade ago nowDesertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:11 pmFor a mere 9 grand more, here is the ultimate example of that car.

Agreed it is mind blowingly clean for the mileage. If it had 50K miles on it I would be doing something extremely stupid right now.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 1:00 pmIf this had 50k miles It would justify the price, but man that thing is CLEAN. That engine is a little shitty above 150k, bullet proof before hand. Great car to drive for like 3-5k miles a year for 10-15 years.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 1:04 pmAgreed it is mind blowingly clean for the mileage. No room at the Inn. I've got one car in the driveway ATM. Put another one there and I'll be waiting out the Rona at the Residence Inn with the homeless.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 1:06 pmDesertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 1:04 pm

It certainly is. nothing in the current gen is FUN until the ///M range
So is a 1997 Honda Civic
Brakes suck on those...
Yep actually using the car always destroys it :-/ there is something to be said for a "no rain, no track, always garaged" car...D Griff wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 11:04 am Started working on the paint work on thesanded down the bondo spots I put in last weekend and washed the car. It took forever as it's filthy from sitting for two months through pollen season plus wasn't washed after the track last, so lots of time with some Tarminator on the tire marks all over the car (which works great).
Man, the paint on this thing is pretty fucked.![]()
DOn't take your car to a track ever if you care about Zillspec.
The funny thing is, it still looks great at 10 feet and frees me up to just enjoy driving the car. I take pretty darn good care of my shit but there's a point where you're imprisoned by your possessions. It's not worth stressing over and it's one of the reasons why I keep the C5 even though I could afford something "better". I would be happy to just have a C7 or Evora or something as an only car, but I don't think I'd actually take something like that to track days.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 11:48 amYep actually using the car always destroys it :-/ there is something to be said for a "no rain, no track, always garaged" car...D Griff wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 11:04 am Started working on the paint work on thesanded down the bondo spots I put in last weekend and washed the car. Actually pretty good, funny enough. The sides of the car in/around the wheel wells are where it's fucked.
