Then you may want to pass on the Arc...I don't think it sounds that great without the sub. A Beam by itself is better than an Arc by itself IMO and cheaper to boot!

One thing though...

It really needs a sub. It's clear that it was designed to clearly and accurately play mid-to-high notes, but it's lacking bass...especially compared to the Beam. That makes the $750 soundbar really ~$1,500 with the sub, but you will not find a better sounding setup IMO. I replaced a dedicated home theater setup (BIC America towers, Klipsch center, 12" sub, Yamaha receiver) with the Arc/Sub and don't miss the HT setup at all, especially with ease of setup and appearance. Most impressive with the Arc is the immersive sound...you can be anywhere in the room and it sounds fantastic and can get LOUD if desired.

If you just want one thing and perfect clear accurate sound isn't the #1 priority, just buy a Beam. That thing has a surprising amount of bass and has a much more balanced sound by itself. We have a Beam in our bedroom and really really like it.

I'll present a small counter point here. I decided to go and get the Arc + Sub for my bedroom because YOLO right? However I also have a JBL system in my living room.

This costs $379 on cramazon... about 1/4 of the BRONOS OMG BEST THING EVER sound... And I would say it is about 80% as good.

I tried to get them to do the headliner at the same time but the parts monkey could only locate the front panels.
I’ll probably just hotheads it in the spring.

SONOS is like the RayBan of home audio... yes, it is a good product, but it is also operating on insane margins and pretty equivalent in quality to many other products that are about 1/3 the price. They have a really good app, the sound is considered to so many because they are accustomed to built in speakers in iPhones and TVs which are atrocious. Sonos sounds pretty good but for $1500 you could get something that sounds way better.

Going under this TV on the pictured shelf. I can "go big" because covering the wall outlets behind it would be a plus. This will be the only TV I am going to soundbar. It will also function for music for the living room/kitchen.

ARC at 799 will be fine, and it looks great. But don't forget the mounting bracket for another $70. It has enough bass after you turn it up to 2/3 for a Condo in particular. Without making the neighbor feel like Narcos are coming.

If it's the only speaker in the place, I'd go elsewhere personally. That JBL setup you posted for example.

I still think there's better options for the money. Even with Sonos...as a single speaker option, I'd chose a Beam over the Arc. But that's just me, or maybe my Arc is broken? I turned the bass all the way up when I first set it up and was so I went deeper with the sub, and it now indeed sounds fantastic for a soundbar.

I think you're kind of married to the sound bar in that space depending on how much room you have on either side. Given that, the Sonos is a good bet, their stuff sounds good and the app/streaming is fantastic like Detroit said.

I have this sound bar + sub combo https://www.crutchfield.com/p_022YAS408 ... l?tp=47366 and IMO MusicCast app/streaming is every bit as good and it's cheaper, but you can't really go wrong with either.

If you have room and it's approved, something like these: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_714RP280F ... tml?tp=185 on each side of the TV powered by a receiver will blow any soundbar+sub out of that water. I think they look good, you may be able to find some with a wood finish that match the condo.

I went from tower speakers similar to those to the Arc, and I don't really miss them much. Those Klipsch units are nicer than the ones I have, but the Arc really does keep up well for TV/movie purposes. I think you'd need to get really high end to justify the extra space/complexity. Plus, you'd also need to buy and place a center channel somewhere.

Yeah, nothing with the good quality sound bars. I personally would add a sub

I just used stereo speakers for years, center channel isn't really needed. I think that comes down to what you use it for most. TV with a lot of dialog? It will be a lot better with a center channel although stereo is OK. Music mostly? Stereo is better. I don't really watch a lot of movies and care about music more than TV.
