If I do, :truk: may get the axe. 50 mi/day @ 17-18 MPG will get real old, real quick.

Looking at one of these if the :dill: is right.

So you spend $15k on a :plac: and more every month on insurance in order to upgrade from 17 mpg on 87 to 24 mpg on 93?

I should trade the CRV in for a Prius, rip out the rear seats, have just as much utility and get dat gas mileage.
You wouldn't even need to, current Prius is 65 cu ft with rear seats down. CRV has to be about the same, maybe 70?

24 MPG?

:wat:

30-32 hwy MPG (verified real world numbers) on regular. Newest VW 1.8T runs on regular.
I assumed sitting in traffic because NJ. The :truk: really only does 17 on open highway?

73 iirc?
Depends on the year, but it's gotta be in that neighborhood. Different shaped cargo area but about the same volume. Prius is long :dedong: and CRV is fat :alpo:

09. I probably should just stick with it. It's paid off and beat up so value is minimal.
You would probably need to own the Prius for many many years before the fuel savings made up for the costs of getting it over a paid-off car.

I did the math for same brand comparisons (base civic vs hybrid civic) many years ago on a blog [user not found] and I had.

I think the closest one was like 190k miles before the hybrid version worked in your favor.

Yeah and that's buying new vs new, trading a used car in vs buying a new hybrid it's probably 400k miles or more - you really never break even.

Nah, no traffic. Total commute of 25.9 miles one way, 23.6 of it is 295 S.

Traffic doesn't start until south of 73, down towards where 295/676/42/55 meet.

And yeah, unless I'm doing 60, :truk: does 17-18 on the open highway. If I'm doing 60-65, I can maybe eke out 20-21.
And even then, I hit the “traffic” from 73 south to the bridge, then 95 by the airport. Traffic is heavy but still does 65-80 mph. It’s not til I hit the blue route where it’s two lanes and 15 mph for eight miles.

Max says gas is free and the :truk: doesn't depreciate - plus you :truk: bros seem to "need" them. Is there really a savings in buying a new German Depreciation Machine?

I got rid of my V8 S4 to commute in a Vibe :doe: so I understand the idea, but that was from a $15k car to a $6k car with the same cargo capabilities and 120 miles a day for a commute.

It's hard to save money on a new car.

I love the SS as a commuter but it ain't cheap.
That's the flip side - If you're going to almost spend more waking hours per day in your car than you do in your house, perhaps it's worth spending enough to enjoy it... I don't miss the :turboyaris: or the :poorvette: but I do miss the S4.

That's why I just put a starter in the Vibe. It might have lasted another 4 years, but that thing was cranking super slowly in the cold and it made me nervous. 3 bolts and like $89, Japanese cars are nice.

Same with the 1LE and Z06 here. Getting 12-16 MPG on my 150 mile round trip commute is brutal, but I am willing to deal with it since the upsides of these cars is great.

My 2016 Silverado with V6, cylinder deactivation, and stock tires would do 22 at 75. That's probably the best a truck can do. Older trucks never cracked 20, unless going 55 on flat road or something.

My ZR2 is the same as [user not found]'s (18ish), but that thing has no thought for aero at all.

295 should stay mostly open I think. Traffic where it hits Gloucester is expected. How many miles are on the truck?
Yeah you'll pay more in gas on the truck but depreciation, even with higher miles, is lower than the Sportwagen.
13,000 miles per year commuting, give or take
@ 20 MPG on regular at $2.25/gal you're at $1,462
@ 31 MPG on premium at $3.00/gal you're at $1,258
The pay off would take forever.

What are the requirements? We haven't had someone :plac: in a little while. Back seat for doggo? Doors? Trunk space? Bike carrying ability?
