That's quite the laundry list. Was the OG torque converter designed incorrectly or something?[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 12:19 pm Service appt. scheduled for next Monday.
- RVC update. TSB #17-NA-269
- Trans shudder between 25-40 MPH, failure to unlock/kick down. Torque convertor replacement. TSB #18-NA-177
- Bed leans 3/4" to driver side. TSB #18-NA-108
- B pillar rattle on passenger side.
- Steering column rattle & creak.
I'm getting a loaner, service manager was peering over SA's shoulder as she recorded my complaints and basically nodded with each one saying that my issues shouldn't be an issue to address. So, fingers crossed.

Welcome to my neighborhood. Literally doe.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 1:42 pmIf I try to make it happen, I can make it happen.
I've trained myself to press the gas pedal harder to initiate a kickdown instead of letting the engine lug - it's not major but it's perceptible. Feels like driving over rippled pavement.
I'm surprised the vapemobile doesn't sound like a box of loose legos.

Well. 1st gen of new equipment type issues. At least they have a TSB and updated parts out.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 1:56 pmWho knows. It's a well-documented issue on the Camaro, Corvette, and Canyonado twins.
There's an official TSB fix for it and they were receptive to my complaints, so
Honestly though it sounds like the new Tacos are more of a basket case of piddly stupid teething issues.

Interesting... I think mine might be doing this a bit. Speed seems accurate with what I experience, but I started to just give it more gas to alleviate.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 1:42 pmIf I try to make it happen, I can make it happen.

The issue seems to be sporadic. Mine doesn't exhibit any symptoms...and if it does, I guess I can't tell?

Last week we were getting in the truck around dusk, and stops dead in her tracks and says "the truck is purple then it's blue!". For some reason at dusk, the paint turns purple at an angle, but blue when dead-on. So it changes colors as you walk around it. She was It is a pretty neat and unique color.

depending on how the light is hitting it you see the blues and purples in it. It really is a cool color.Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 2:34 pmLast week we were getting in the truck around dusk, and stops dead in her tracks and says "the truck is purple then it's blue!". 10/11?[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 2:35 pmLet's try and do that this month if we get a clear Sunday.
I was looking at the eagles schedule and they're playing at night on 10/11 which I thought was a sunday. I'm good for the 14th.
I've been itching to drive the in a manner other than commuter. And before the summer ramz and tarz come off.

Torque converter seems like they have more opportunities to fuck shit up than they do to make it nice. If it stops being the donut hydraulic pump that I need it to be, I'll ask for it to be changed.
The trans does seem a bit dim and slow to respond at times, but I just goose it more.

Ok, mine doesn't do that at all.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 5:10 pm But when it upshifts on an offramp and lugs the engine instead of holding a gear it annoys me.

The number of issues you’ve had with your 4 is staggering. Hope they fix it[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 10:11 am Spent the last 4 days driving in the Poconos - confirmed transmission/torque convertor issue. Ended up putting it in tow/haul mode to make it behave more proper, but noticed a lot of shuddering/chuggling under load when climbing hills and the transmission didn't react fast enough.
Truck was dropped off at the diller this morning for my laundry list of issues. Fingers crossed the 3 big ones with TSBs attached to them are addressed.
On the bright side, I got 22 MPG on the highway coming home on Sunday.

I was hella surprised they gave me a whole new spring pack instead of just a shim.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 11:41 amI'll send you my shim kit if you want to do it yourself.
I'm waiting to see what the dealer does. Apex got a whole new driver side spring pack.

I had a loaner Equinox.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 11:57 am The 2018 CCSB Z71 I got as a loaner drives better. The B-pillar creak/tick/rattle is 100% worse than mine, though.

Not have to talk to the dealership and get my truck fixed? Win-Win to me.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 11:41 amI'll send you my shim kit if you want to do it yourself.

Oh no. I had a rental Escape with the 1.5T. That engine was.... ok I guess.... for normal putting around. Put your foot in it and you quickly learned that it was giving 100% of what it had while you were just normal putting around. It had no balls on the highway.
