There's a young guy...........under 30 at our gym and he looks in shape AF but doesn't have that bodybuilder thickness, crazy V shape torso, massive legs, etc.....fucking kid pulled 495 X 4.......twice. I was impressed.

Hell yeah! There are a couple dudes like that at my gym that you wouldn’t think much of if you saw them walking down the street, but they throw stupid weights around in here.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 8:00 pmThere's a young guy...........under 30 at our gym and he looks in shape AF but doesn't have that bodybuilder thickness, crazy V shape torso, massive legs, etc.....fucking kid pulled 495 X 4.......twice. Had to make some content for Animal, so here’s that deadlift video. If this doesn’t work for anyone who doesn’t have IG, I’ll upload the original clip to Vimeo or something if you care to watch.

Am I crazy or did it look like your hips came up before your chest? Might not bother you, but I've been trying to keep my torso angle static when I am (occasionally) deadlifting. Might be worth recording yourself with a lighter weight too to see if how your hips and chest rise changes at all. Just trying to look out for your back, mang.

My hips definitely come up first, but I don’t think it’s too big of an issue. The general consensus is that torso angle remaining static is less important than not allowing excessive spinal flexion. I do try to minimize the hip shoot though. Appreciate you looking out!coogles wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 4:50 pm Am I crazy or did it look like your hips came up before your chest? 475x8. Pretty happy with that considering I smoked a bowl earlier in the day and feel a little spacey still.
Gonna push hard for 475x10 next week, then move straight to 495 from there and start the build up to 10 reps.

Workout T shirts? I like LENGTH to strap a belt over. Doesn't have to be fancy, no metrosexual here. Jay Cutler actually has some fairly good looking stuff for a fair price but unlike Bro Brandon, I'm not really Cutler material. I don't care if your favorite gym shirt came from a brewery, if they have more, let me know.

Dang.. you just missed Animal clearing out a bunch of shirts buy one get one free. Brand affiliation aside, their shirts are very comfy for working out in. They’re a tri-blend of polyester, cotton, and rayon. Very soft, lightweight and breathable. At 6’2” and 230lbs a 3xl gives me a little bit of a loose fit for the gym, I usually wear a 2xl out of the gym, but those are getting a little tighter than I’d like to wear without feeling like I’m trying to call additional douchey attention to myself. Plenty of length in the 3xl for hanging below a weight belt.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 6:08 pm Workout T shirts? I like LENGTH to strap a belt over. 475x8 again. Bummed, but really can’t be too unhappy with it. I’ve progressed every single week since I started this deadlift goal so it makes sense I had a little plateau as the weights are stacking up.

There is another brand that a lot of gym apparel is printed on.. can’t remember the name off the top of my head, but I’ll check the tag of the one shirt I have from them when I get home. They’re a heavier cotton, but get the job done for a no frills shirt to go bust your ass in.

Old Navy actually offers decent fitness wear for a low cost and most importantly for me, tall sizes. This may fit the bill for length, it’s great for me as I’m 6’1” with the legs of a 5’8” guy and skinny, so things that fit well everywhere else are always too short on me.
That said for the gym I just slum it in baggy XL tees typically. I’m sadly too old for cutoff tees anymore.

Some of their own branded stuff is a little to bro for me, but this is who my gym prints their shirts on. Heavy duty cotton shirts that hold up well.

Ive somehow "avoided" old navy until recently, they sell some pretty decent stuff now.D Griff wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 9:24 pm Old Navy actually offers decent fitness wear for a low cost and most importantly for me, tall sizes. Also I started jumping the fabletics bandwagon. I have their vip membershit. It is $45 a month, but the catch is you can skip it as much as you like and only get 1 vip points on occasion (ie once every 6 months?) but if you dont skip membership, you get a point everytime you pay for membership and it equals to one clothing. Its a mixed bag. But i've been

I just hate their advertisements, because it’s like “shorts for $20!? ZOMG we’re the best!”, but in order to actually get that price you have to have their VIP membership otherwise the shorts are like $75 or something insane.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2023 12:22 amIve somehow "avoided" old navy until recently, they sell some pretty decent stuff now.D Griff wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 9:24 pm Old Navy actually offers decent fitness wear for a low cost and most importantly for me, tall sizes. Yeah, i fell in their bait. But i skipped months for the last 6 months now, maybe more lol. I do love their quality, but the advertisements are not transparent and more of a foot in the door technique where its really not different being member vs not imo from a financial sense. Atleast they have the month skip option, otherwise id

Yeah I didn’t know about the skip option, that definitely makes it not as bad.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2023 11:13 amLol
