It’s a different type of drive, ironically one you would likely enjoy very much.
I owned a GTI for 40k miles and have logged 50ish in two TDIs and... yeah, I disagree with you fully. GTI is AND feels way faster. TDI is a bit of a turd.

Man, I did very much enjoy that Camaro though. I could drive that daily. But something like that really needs a driveway at least, parallel parking it would be horrific. No space for a kid seat either, so meh.
I probably should have bought one years ago. I mean I ended up doing the winter/summer tire dance anyway. Oh, and I haven't switched out to my winters yet still, despite a snow storm this weekend.

That's fair... a lot of it depends on how you drive, I wind out my cars frequently. I have driven both., they aren't bad but not quick by any means. I guess most

never go above 3K RPMs so it makes more sense.

0-30 TDIs felt fine. Close to a GTI I guess. After that, naw.

There is no comparison past 3500rpm def not even close. But that’s sort of my point every day if you’re derping around ... up until that rpm range the tdi feels quicker.

IIRC they were rwd until slip was detected, but there's a reason they don't make AWD/hemi cars anymore. The AWD system was not up to the task. At least that's what the salesman told my dad when he went to look at a hemi AWD 300.

I dunno man. The summers are better in 20F temps dry pavement than the winters could ever hope to be. I hardly drive anyway, I can stay home if its shit weather. Snow in Philly melts in a day, roads are usually dry within 12 hours of a storm.
I still want AWD though

Shame the touch screen kind of blows. They’ll fix that in a year or two. But annoying it’s not correct out the gate.

I think a lack of sales killed the option since the Durango comes in AWD in both R/T and SRT trim.

He takes himself way too seriously. He acts like he's producing a life changing movie with every review, and that each car is deeply touching his soul. It's all too much.

So I finished the Savage Geese video. A few points:
- Yeah, seat heater button design is awful. Everyone hates it.
- Never had to wait 30 seconds to use the screen on start up? Not sure why he was struggling here.
- Apparently there's a software update coming in Feburary with tons of minor changes, so hopefully they resolve a couple of the issues.
- Start/stop is as bad as he says. I might make a defeat switch and start selling them
- Ride, NVH, and interior is best in class by a mile. Suspension tuning is perfect. Rides over everything no problem. It rolls a lot, but the dynamics are surprisingly good for how soft the suspension is. This is all due to how rigid the platform is. It feels like a giant luxury rally car.
- Utility is great too. Massive luggage and people space. Lots of really clever design features too.
- CVT is rubber band like, but hey, what do you expect? None of this is a surprise to me.
Overall, great daily vehicle. Would recommend. 8/10.
