I see, perhaps that means I should wait even longerDetroit wrote:Article claims they're coming as MY18 models here.maxtdi wrote:

However... the current gen is horribly under-rated. There is no way it is at 227hp, that thing felt like a solid 270/280.But the GTI gets some notable improvements. Power is up from 210 HP to 227 HP, and the Performance Package goes from 230 HP to 245 HP. That’s pretty excellent.
Dang, those stock WHP #'s aremaxtdi wrote:Looks like my ass dyno is pretty accurate

It felt more powerful than a WRX which is advertised at 270hp, it is impossible to explain that gapDetroit wrote:Dang, those stock WHP #'s aremaxtdi wrote:Looks like my ass dyno is pretty accurate

I want to go drive a MK7 GTI. Still haven't.maxtdi wrote:It felt more powerful than a WRX which is advertised at 270hp, it is impossible to explain that gapDetroit wrote: Dang, those stock WHP #'s are

Very different experience from a Mk6. Think 30% extra power, and 30% extra refinement, while in the same exact package.Detroit wrote:I want to go drive a MK7 GTI. Still haven't.maxtdi wrote:

Sounds almost like my Stage 1 MK6.maxtdi wrote:Very different experience from a Mk6. Think 30% extra power, and 30% extra refinement, while in the same exact package.Detroit wrote: I want to go drive a MK7 GTI. Still haven't.
The mk6 GTI felt pretty much the same as my TDI when it came in daily driving, the MK7 has more low end than my fucking diesel. It is nuts, and it pulls hard until 7k rpm.
It is a VERY VERY VERY good all arounder.

Also I think they went full retard on the Sounductor?! AZN mk2 commented and said "I really like the engine sound", it "sounds sporty" and honestly it wasn't bad. The car wasn't quiet ... fake noise be damned I'll take it.Detroit wrote:Sounds almost like my Stage 1 MK6.maxtdi wrote:

Yeah but I don't like the steering wheel.

Nope... unless you want poverty spec. Which frankly isn't all that bad.Johnny_P wrote:Hmmmmmmmmm do they lease well?maxtdi wrote:

I hate no traction 1 wheel peels, so I'd probably opt for the Sport or PP one or whatever its called now.maxtdi wrote:Nope... unless you want poverty spec. Which frankly isn't all that bad.Johnny_P wrote: Hmmmmmmmmm do they lease well?
PP diff is electronically controlled, probably still result in the one wheel peel.Johnny_P wrote:I hate no traction 1 wheel peels, so I'd probably opt for the Sport or PP one or whatever its called now.maxtdi wrote:

LSD doesn't can't help much with straight line acceleration if the tires are lame, was it on stock failseasons?maxtdi wrote:Very different experience from a Mk6. One thing I didn't like is that I couldn't really tell the car had an LSD, it still spun the wheels a fair amount, although perhaps both were spinning.
Also the handling is comparable to my TDI, I can't say I was blown away, maybe a slight bit better.

I'm sure I'm right, as well.
