Try carmax first, to get your baseline price. Then move on to PP. I don’t see why you wouldn’t get 20k for it PP
I wonder how long payoff would take. One idea is to list it and once I have a buyer, pay off my loan, but it could take weeks to get the title. I have the cash but am just worried if I pay it off I'll end up sitting on it forever. I guess if the baseline from Carmax is over $17K I could always do that if PP doesn't work out after a month or two.
Pay off would take two weeks I’d guess. There is a carrying cost associated with that also...
Either way seems like you should pay it off. Car will be gone one way or another

Honestly, if you want it gone, just off it. If Carmax offers over what you owe, I'd take the deal and "pay" yourself for the months of pain and suffering you'd otherwise have to endure for the extra MAYBE $2k you'd make dealing with the general

of the world.
Plus, you won't have to have any cash outlay paying things off. THEY can deal with the carrying cost.

If you were closer I'd sell you my thin spokes and Michelin RF for cheap. Sucks about the exhaust man.
Eh, no want for run flats...

but thanks. I have the bronze 50AE thin spokes still, just no

on 'em. Last time I checked TR there were some OK Dunlop summer rubberz available in thin spoke sizes for like $400, I may just grab something like that.
Aren't the Firestone Indy 500's cheap AF and great for street tires?

They were offering me literally 5k under "trade in" for my 10k mile 370z which I know they would have listed for 10k more than their offer.

It helps with a baseline. Some people actually have decent luck. But usually that's 1-3 years old. I think yours is a 2014 right? That's a bit older than their bread and butter so they may low ball.

Everyone has to make money. They have to offer below auction values to make sure they come out ahead...especially considering the costs of paying off, waiting for titles, storing, transporting, reconditioning, etc, etc.

but at some point it becomes more viable to sell PP. Either way...

Depends how much you hate yourself and how little you value your time. I don't think I'll ever sell another car PP again. I just can't. I'd rather leave it in SW Detroit with the keys in it.

Yeah it's kind of an odd sitch as it's "old" at 2014 but has less than 30K miles and looks brand new inside/out pretty much. I feel like the condition/spec would matter more to a private party than Carmax.

I don't think the delta is that high. No way. If Carmax only offers $15k, it's not a $20k car PP...at least not without a lot of
Trying to sell my $15k car...
Easily double digits (10+) offers to trade for Harleys

Dude told me he'd buy it if it was stock, then messaged me at length later complaining about how shitty the C5's are that he's finding

Dude offered asking but wanted me to extend credit
Dude offered $12k because he "didn't want to take out a loan"
etc, etc, etc.
Not a single person has even asked to see the car, it's all

that takes time to deal with...AND I now have a "negative" seller rating on Facebook Marketplace because I "don't respond fast enough to messages". When it's all

why should I?
It's hell and horrible. And I think it's because of the price. A $5k car would fly off without issue...my dad sold his Saab wagon in half a day for $5k on FB Marketplace a few weeks ago. Once you get into 5 digits, it gets FAR more difficult.

I get the struggle... but every car is different... comparing a 200X C5 to a 201X BMW is quite difficult... as the demographics shopping these are diff as well.

You're definitely
It just becomes tough at that point, like if I have to write a $2K check just to have it gone, I kinda see that as adding $2K to the price of whatever I end up getting, and it becomes less palatable. Like, if I buy a Mazda Speed3 for $10K, plus $2K to off the BMW, it'll cost me about the same in the long run as just keeping it for longer when it is objectively a better car than the MS3, I just don't want it as much.

It seems like 328i F30s with similar miles to mine are asking $20k-27K... most look worse. BUT there are 2014s with higher miles and worse colors/spec being sold for $14-15K.

Asking =/= selling bro.
Check out completed auctions on eBay.
Actually, eBay might be a solid option considering the relative rarity of the car and appeal to enthusiasts. I've had excellent luck on eBay in the past.
