$200+ isn't reasonable right now for something I barely use.

I've borrowed one of the cheap chinese lights and they're more than good enough for occasional use.
Dude I spent $90 at Guys and got two 450 lumen lights. It's more than enough light to ride at night.

Yeah, I have one 700 lumen light that works well by itself. But having 2 would be :tits: even if each is lower output.

Mercer is fantastic. Lots of tight twisty fast singletrack on the west side, lots of rougher rootier stuff on the east side.

You've got Six Mile up towards you as well, plus Baldpate/Washington Crossing, and Nox wouldn't be that far either.
You're making me want to grab fled's bike even more. Just :notsure: of what else I would need to buy outside of the bike (and roof rack). Pedals and shoes? Probably a new helmet too.

Pedals, shoes, helmet, and decent enough riding gear so that you don't develop necrotizing faciitis of the taint.

Once you invest in it, though, it lasts for a long time. Been a while since I spent any significant money on anything other than a new pair of gloves here and there or a new chain and cassette.
That's what makes this very intriguing to me. It's a decent chunk of cash up front, but minimal year-over-year outlay unless you :plac: the bike.

Plus, some riding helps out with general health too.

I think I have a spare set of clipless pedals I could throw in, flats for sure.

also: cheap bike gear at www.sierratradingpost.com - I buy most of my shorts and jerseys on there. They're owned by TJ Maxx/Marshalls.

I have enough spare parts in my garage to build up another bike, including a frame.

For $1000 I'll sell you the BMC plus her old bike, a 2011 GT (women's specific) hardtail, with a new fork, new FSA crank, SRAM x7 drivetrain, Avid Juicy3 Hydro disc brakes and a spare set of wheels. It's got all the old parts off the BMC.
