Indeed it is!
Nice! Work and attend? Buddy of mine went there. I went to FIU (down in Miami)
Yep, I'm studying Mech Eng and I work at one of the labs on campus building and optimizing their experiments.

Nice! That's a win-win. I love the Orlando area. Quick drive from Miami and we always got the FL Resident discounts for the parks. I have a few FHP buddies up there too. I know they are a bit intense.

Hell yeah the discounts are nice (when the parks aren't closed for THE PLAGUE) since my fiancee really likes Disney. I actually haven't minded FHP so far. Far more lenient than Louisiana State Troopers in my experience. Those guys were pricks.

FHP gives you leniency before they pull you over, so if you get pulled over you KNOW you're toasty.

Exaaaactly. Got nicked for 88mph on I-10 by a fucking plane up in Jefferson County a while back. I wasn't paying enough attention to see the plane since I was going in a little pack. Fuckers pulled 4 of us over in a row :flaccid: :really:

I got a ticket like that 92 in a 70. Took it to the Ticket Clinic and there was no update from FHP on it for 6 months and then it got dismissed.

I gave it to Ticket Clinic (God fucking bless them, those guys are awesome :fuckyeah: ) and they got it thrown out too. The great thing about tickets from speed measured by a guy in a plane is that both the officer in the plane using the stopwatch and the officer who pulled you over BOTH have to show up to court for the judge not to throw it out.

And the likelihood of human error and accuracy of the start/stop on the watch and the dude focusing on timing you AND flying a god damn plane at the same time... It's not like radar where they can certify and calibrate every so often

It’s for the greater good.

I spent the whole day out in the garage doing stuff instead of going out and doing stuff. Self-isolation is important right now.
Sure, but I am barely ever spending time near people at my job the way my schedule is. It's just complete :poop: to tell me I can't come to work when I'm a low risk employee anyways.

This will be a really interesting climate change study. Will the elimination of a large chunk of energy usage have any immediate impact on the earth's temp?

:fatty:

The director of my lab is awesome. He managed to get me permission to come into work because I need to “meet pressing deadlines.” While true that I have some deadlines, they aren’t exactly “pressing”

Either way, seems to be okay now. I’m in my lab all by my self, happily typing away and writing new code for this one experiment.

Related: I saw on TV recently a satellite image of China before and during its current shutdown and the previously visible pollution haze was noticeably reduced since normal life came to a halt. :science:
