roughrough :plac; time. Isnt that your 'company' car?
Company doesn't pay for car which is another

topic. They do pay mileage when traveling for business, which I was planning on doing today.
Tow driver actually "fixed it" with his Walmart DTC tool. Cleared codes and it started working. Said it had a code for fob batteries low.
Replaced fob batteries and we'll see what happens in a few days.
I can honestly say it was the first time I've ever called for a tow for a broken down car. I've always been able to come up with a bush fix until today. Small hit to the 'ol ego

No physical key cylinder for the FiST. You can place your fob near the passive transmitter doohickey thing where the ignition cylinder normally is and it's supposed to work, but didn't for me. My guess is that somehow my keys became out of sync with the keyless ign system

In my FoST there was a panel over the location of the key cylinder, you popped that off and slot the key in there.

The FiST as the panel, but behind it is slot that fits the fob
The only thing the key does is unlock the door and engage the child locks

Holding it up to the round panel on the steering column didn't allow it to pick up the RFID freq?
Nope.

so my mexican yaris' mfi or w/e it is, asked me to replace key battery. I have a 2 pair energizer in the glove box with one left, so I changed the key battery in parking lot (on it's 3rd!!) and still says replace key battery
My mk6 has never did that.

Im really not a huge fan of keyless ignition. I had it on my Ducati and it apparently operated on whatever frequency is common at gas stations... Result: bike wouldn't start after refueling...

Life must've been really

for these people. Repo'd while shopping at Target. I didn't feel bad after I saw them with 3 full carts of shit.

I bought $160 worth of 4k led ceiling lights, everything else I've installed so far is 3k
Have to decide whether to spend more of roll with what I've got.

I also shocked myself yesterday. Got a nice tingle in my left arm.
Ooops.
Would be a shame if I killed myself working on the house.
I've always wanted to die in an anecdote.

My previous GTI was also keyless entry and was still on it's original battery. Sure it's convenient when your hand is full, or is stuck in your pocket when it's cold out. If they make an ignition slot like in the e90 bmw's, I would be ok with that.
Thing with VW, you get regular ignition on base models, but rest are keyless. Mines an SE model comes with sunroof and better sound system, which what i wanted.
