Of course I do. It's clipped to my passenger visor. I push the button and the garage door opens. How is homelink zomg better?
Legit question.
You don't mar your visor with your old ass man garage door opener and instead you command your home from a fully integrated technological solution.

I conceded the point above but Mr. Allen DID NOT.

You don't have that stupid thing hanging from the visor destroying it, plus you never have to change batteries. Our house didn't come with an opener, so I bought the cheapest compatible one just to program homelink in the vehicles. I leave the opener for the house sitter, that's all it gets used for.
Destroyed? lol.
I've changed my battery once in 16 years.

To be fair the homelink in the MBZ does not work and I have not filed a disability claim from the stress caused by my visor clip opener nor its effect upon the visor.
The angst is real.

Seriously. Got a new opener when the garage was built in 2006. Replaced battery once several years ago. It'll probably need to be replaced again in the next year or so.

Trumpers are the worst. Like, who tf cares if a business offers free EV charging? Is this any different than offering free dog treats, or a lollipop at a bank, or literally any other promotional expense that a company decides to incur?
Also, "they have to offer free gas" is fucking retarded. So, is gas going to be offered at the same "charge rate" as EVs? Spend an hour here and you get 1/4 gallon? Who elects these idiots?

Absolutely. They can leave a permanent mark if there long enough. Had it happen in my e30, it sucked.

It's not "trumpers" its POOR people.
Is it really fair to subsidize EVs to this level and FUCK THE POOR to this level ? No one can afford a $55k tesla. So I see their point.
Fun fact Electrify america is funded by the diesel GAYte lawsuit...
But all that said ev charging is shitty AF all over and shouldn't be removed. Also EVs are not the future to "carbon neutrality". When the power that fuel them comes from coal/nat gas and lithium takes mountains to move...

A little dimple from the clip is hardly "destroyed"
And you don't see it unless the passenger folds their visor down. And who's looking for the little dimple anyway?

Well, I don't want poors in my restaurant. I want Marshal Zhukov and the Baezn and their big dick Tesla and their fancy wine order and hopefully they are big tipping motherfuckers. The poors can go to Wal Mart and get a 20 pack of bean and cheese burritos.

Ron,

with your 7 year VW batteries, 16 year garage door batteries, lifetime plastic water pumps, and window visors made of titanium. Shit that happens to the rest of us doesn't happen to Ron Broham and his cavalcade of extra durable durable goods.

Since I got my Mk4 in 1999 I've bought 2 batteries. One for it and one for my Mk6.

I can see their point when you put it that way, but damn...the .gov has decided EV is the future full stop, and we gotta start somewhere with charging infrastructure. Rip the chargers out and what do you do when the fed mandates EVs but there's nowhere to charge them because you resisted for so long? It's just insane and more evidence of why the .gov needs to stop trying to influence the supply side of the equation.

PA is majority nuclear power. Can't speak for the rest of the country tho. They're more of a future to lowered emissions than a miniature gas-burning 40% efficient rolling power plant is. Especially as the source of electricity shifts away from coal and fossil fuels. Your Tesla being case in point, which is powered by your solar panels so essentially zero emissions after it was built.
EV ownership was made possible by charging infrastructure being built up by individuals, businesses, and standalone companies like electrify america or Tesla or whatever. Without them, it wouldn't have turned into a thing. Scale it back if you want, sure. I get the argument, it's augmenting the rich essentially. But without that infrastructure the poors wouldn't be able to take part in the EV game either. A Nissan Leaf had what, like 50 miles of charge when it came out? If you had a charger at your destination you greatly expanded the ability to use that vehicle which at the time was pretty cutting edge tech, and mostly affordable.
But basically it comes down to this. If a business wants to offer free charging for EVs then why is it a problem if they choose to do that? Take public chargers away, yeah I can understand that if you're a conservative you don't like change and environmentalism is part of the woke bullshit fake news generation whatever. But a private business?
