The truck is holding up fairly well otherwise, and I'll be shopping for new summer tires. Still not sure if I should buy the cheapest quality minivan tars or do something off-roady. It really won't ever go off the road :doe:
I like what Toyota put on Max's Taco, anyone remember the brand/name?
I've got Falken Wildpeak AT3's on the 4R, had the same tires on my JTR back in the day. They're great on and off-road, wear well, and are quiet. Also surprisingly good in snow.

Falken has a crossover variant with a gentler tread pattern for on-road use, but the chunky sidewall that looks cool. I was going to put these on the Cucktrek until I off'd it.

Hold the phones, I like where this is going. We have two sets of tires for Nicole's truck, but I'm inclined to burning through the winter set and switching to something like this year round instead. It would save me the hassle of switching over twice a year. I'm going to read up on these, thank you!

Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar

Please note that a lot of people HATE these. But I loved them. They were quiet and fuel efficient and they would last 80k miles on the Taco... But people don't think they are "aggressive" enough.

Our JL had these, and I liked them quite a bit as well. These are another great option.

Thanks Max, I think they looked pretty good and Toyota is picky about stuff tires that meet their decibel and FE standards. I'd have no qualms running those on your reco. Thank you!

Yea, there's a lot of appeal in that approach, and was my plan for the Cucktrek since it was straight up dangerous in the snow on the stock highway tires. Two sets of tires for boring cars is a lot of :butwhy: to me. These should pass any sort of .gov requirements for snow tires if you have to deal with that, AND I've heard they're pretty decent. Dedicated snow tires would probably still have more grip in the snow/ice, but at least you're not dealing with another set of tires.

As you're shopping if you want to go this direction, pay close attention to the tread pattern of tires and the amount of siping (little lines cut in the tread). It's the sipes that matter for snow and ice driving, and you'll notice a winter tire has a ton, and a summer tire has none. A surprising number of "All Terrain" and "all season" tires claim good winter performance, but minimal siping. It's actually why I continue to drive on the Falken Wildpeak AT3's because they have more siping than many other all terrain tires I've seen. And sure enough, they're solid in snow and ice.

I've probably put more combined miles on AT3's than any other tire (JTR, Ram, 4R had them), and they've yet to disappoint.

They're great tires. Definitely worth a look. Honestly, I'd price out the Falkens and the Goodyears and pick whichever is cheapest. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

My wife will refuse to drive and I would be buying another set. This is not a viable option for her rig unfortunately. I've seen Touaregs with lift kits and big wheels and they're pretty cool looking, :woodplow:

It is obviously the case, but I cannot ignore quality suggestions like this. Trust me, those "rugged" sidewalls on tires suggested above are only there to sell product, and they do a fine job to get my nod of approval :P

Chunky sidewall tires look cool. It's really all people "need". I could have made due with the trail tires if they made them in the size I needed.

I had them install a new serpentine belt for an additional 100 bucks. Hope we're good for a while with this thing....

Well, seems all of the 'yota :dillerman: in this area charge ADM -$5K or so. One said it is 'negotiable if I come in and discuss/order' but that sounds like a waste of my time.

It does seem like getting a GR86 in 3 months or so would be relatively easy. I may try the Raleigh, NC :dillerman: listed here: https://www.grcorollaforum.com/threads/ ... ships.168/

dat poor mans cayenne :doe: does the t-reg has air suspension? That's the issue my uncle dealt with on his first gen cayenne with the 3.6 na vr6 which does cost an arm and a leg for parts alone, the dash screams air level does not work.

Dang, the Subaru :dillerman: here is actually rather dope. I just spoke with a guy - they can order me a 2023 to whatever spec I like at MSRP with October delivery. 2.9% financing to boot.

I think the financing will help with selling :tits: on the :dill: - she doesn't really wrap her head well around total cost of ownershit and gets hung up on monthly payments :whocares:

I could use the Beemah money to pay off the :jeep: and then finance the BRZ for less monthly than we pay on the :jeep: , resulting in still only having one payment that is similar, minimal cash outlay, and a cheaper to own vehicle overall as the 86/BRZ would have a warranty and probably depreciate less?

Remember that Toyota doesn't do orders. "Placing an order" is :bs: and likely a cash grab from the dealer to get a deposit on a car they'll get anyway. The best way is to find an MSRP dealer and "build a relationshit" :disgust: with someone there to keep an eye out for incoming inventory to put your name on somehow. I told my :dillerman: to let me know if they get ANYTHING with a manual transmission allocated that I could snag. He texts me every week "nothing yet, still keeping an eye out".
