I guess its time to book an appointment with my favorite doods at the local BMW dealer.
It’s about to hit 4 years or 50k miles eh?!

Way past that on years we are at 5.5. Most emissions parts are 7/70 :doe: which includes a lot of major engine shit, turbos for instance. Will reset and see what happens.

Yeah strangely the 3 and 7 series have one set of warranties, 2, 4 and 6 another. I reset the CEL and tightened the gas cap. It's not down on power or doing anything weird.

Worst ever industry IQS from JD Power. Can't say I'm surprised, but it's really disappointing that vehicles cost more than they ever have, they're harder to get than ever, AND they're crappier than ever. :neat:

The Cucktrek we bought last year didn't have issues, neither did the 4R. Vehicles further along in their lifecycle are probably the better ones to buy right now.

I saw a guy in a widebody Challenger 392 this morning pull a hard left turn and hammer that thing like it had an Atlas Booster Rocket. I guess I can Mexican Gang Car comment all day long, but at the end of the day it looked like fun.

Lower manpower at manufacturing facilities due to people being out sick means more shit gets through quality checks. I’m sure it was all relaxed in order to pump out as many cars as they could due to supply problems. Like how none of the doors line up or sit flush on my CRV that has been in production since 2016.

It’s like “oktoberfest fuckup” but for the entire auto industry not just German cars

New product launches. Dodge hasn't launched a new product in...10 years? They've barely refreshed anything, so they know what they're building and how, and there's just not much else to it.

Lexus hasn’t launched much either during this study. Neither did Porsche other than the taycan.

Lexus had a new LX and NX (which is likely volume), so more than Dodge. Plus, luxury :fancy: tend to be more picky in IQS.

The Taycan probably had a lot of growing pains for Porsche. They also have a million different special edition models across the board, and that kind of build complexity is just asking for trouble, especially when plants are challenged with workforce.

I just had a fuel injector fail on the wife's 2016 Cherokee with 40k miles on the clock. After looking online, it is becoming a common issue. It gave me a reason to replace the spark plugs since you have to pull the upper intake manifold to access both.

I tried calling about a goodwill warranty since it is only a year out of the powertrain's 5/60 and 20k miles under the limit, but was told fuel injectors aren't part of the powertrain. Oh well. $120 for the injector place $35 for new gaskets.

Isn’t there an emissions warranty ?

Yep. The federal 8 year warranty doesn't cover it. You'd think it would since a bad fuel injector negatively impacts emissions, but this feels like some sort of line that was drawn by corporate lobbyists.

I think they look better than the Bronco. I saw a Bronco Bigfoot or whatever today. The amount of unpainted black plastic made it look like a cheap rendition of the Hummer 2.

Maybe? The wheel arches had these like 6” wide flat plastic… I dunno what to call them, flares? that stuck out perpendicular to the body and just looked cheap as hell.
