And CVT is the only way to get Recarbros and the :fancy: suspension.

I'm curious what the actual sales numbers are for CVT WRX's. Who buys them?
I think they “had” like a 4x% take rate it wasn’t insignificant.
:dafuq: Insanity.

You are the insane one bro. Stop worshiping your oxcart transmission and let a single cone and belt do all that pesky work for you.
I am kidding of course if I want a CVT I will just go straight to electric.

It was actually only 10% take rate for the CVT.

There was a Civic and an Accord at the autocross this past weekend that were both CVT's. They sounded like they were going to explode out on the course.

The CVT in the Cucktrek was better than I expected, but it's still not great. I'd rather have no transmission for sure.

If I autoX my Cammie, I'd keep the child seats in the back. CVT powered hybrid with the head unit set to fuel economy. I bet it's an easy class to do well in with sticky tars. :notbad:

Yeah the rear end is all that needs to be updated. They’ll probably fix it with a mid cycle refresh in like 3 years.

Shame about the automatic being a CVT too.

I don’t mind it otherwise. I’d consider one if I were in the market for a stickshift little car.
And CVT is the only way to get Recarbros and the :fancy: suspension.

I wonder if the adaptive dampers solve the bouncy ride problem or not. If they do and if they can be retrofit to the manual….

Eh. I’d still prefer an Outback.

Straight Pipes WRX review.
Ok, flame suit on. I like the looks. Aside from the rear plastic diaper I like it, and I could deal with it looks wise. On all accounts, it sounds like they fixed the 2.0l motor problems of rev hang and wonky power delivery and just ass tuning. So thats excellent. Interior changed and is different and looks totally acceptable in this range, so thats good. The two issues are you don't get any driver aids or any option to add them with the MT, and the fuel mileage at 22 average is just... wow bad.

I'd probably not get it, and I'd still probably go Outback, but is a cool car. I could see myself in one of these, if where I live is conducive to a manual transmission (i.e. not in the Philly area).

I unfollowed those guys, used to watch all their shit. But they got annoying af somehow.

I also don’t mind the wrx. Saw the first one in person yesterday. It’s not any better looking than the last gen. But it’s :notbad:

As a size Note something with 4 cyl should get better mpg than my 450hp m3 got.

The Subaru awd system is very inefficient, and that engine is also like 6 years old by now.

Which is one of many problems with the car.

So Subaru does the following:

1. Refuses to make a 350-400 hp of this thing to compete with the ROW.
2. Elminates their top dog STI.
3. Markets this thing as a last bone thrown to the vape crowd. which as noted is a four cylinder car that gets the fuel mileage of a Funny Car.

Face it. Subaru makes lifted sedans and wagons for dog owners, lesbians, and people from the Northwest and other mountain states. They have moved on. You should too.

Yeah the MT cars don’t decouple the rear driveshaft ever. They are always powering it. Where a Haldex type system decouples and saves fuel doing so.

Yes. The black flares make the wheels appear larger and more proportionally sized.
That rear bumper is still awful though.

:dat: and it's sad.

Also, let's not forget Toyota's involvement with Subaru and how the WRX and STI are direct competitors for the new GR line. GR Corolla replaces the STI, WRX just needs to carry along long enough to become an EV pod or some other Toyota GR thing.

Subaru's fate is sealed, we just have to watch it play out.

I have a PO440 Evaporative Emission System Code CEL on the BMW. Hmm. There is a large amount of shit that falls under emissions warranty in CA (turbocharger, for example) that is 7/70. I guess its time to book an appointment with my favorite doods at the local BMW dealer.
