I think it really has to do with the electronic parking brake. CT4VBW has 4 piston rears but a sliding caliper for the parking brake.

What else could it be? Obviously it’s cost cutting too.

Porsche is the only one I can think of that has a manual, electronic parking brake, and waxables in the rear.

I mean my Corvette had separate brakes inside the rear discs for the parking brake so they could do that.

I think the answer is that it doesn’t matter so they don’t do it. Front brakes do the huge majority of the work. They assume most won’t notice or care. We’re just a bunch of bitches. I’d be willing to bet the braking power on this thing is fucking immense.

My wife has e-brake and waxable :meat: on the rear. That's not the primary reason, I think it's a $$ decision.

Waxables are hot though, I kinda hate the look of the sliders on the 86.
