i love your super jaded cali view points.![]()
blows my mind when a nice $1m house is "basic bitch". I'd say in greater BR area, about 10-15% of houses are in the 1m+ range. most decent ones hover in the 300-500k range.

example couple comes from a wealthy family, both med drs. one is likely 300-400k and wife is part time 80k
It really feels like 2008 all over again

I can feel sorry for a person and / or good peoples (ie, you) whos gov jobs are being eliminated, remote work promises not kept, etc.
However on a macro level this has / needs to happen. Those chucklefucks in DC have got to balance the budget, root out the corruption, and start being accountable to we the people again. Like in any war, there will be casualties; be thankful its not a shooting one.

I agree with the intent behind what they’re doing, but the execution has been massively fumbled IMO.

Lol, we are at memes in our civil discourse.
Screen shots of politicians on the left making "Nazi" hand gestures taken out of video context versus Elon who did a chest bump and full Nazi salute, twice.
Sigh.
It's just all stupid as hell.
Trump and Elon give no fucks about the middle class, it's all about consolidating power for themselves.
We are all fucked, left, right, whatever your affiliation.
The left has absolutely no spine, and has screwed the pooch for years.
The GOP is loyalists and pandering to Trump to save their own careers.
We are cooked.

Society is incredibly fucked.
All you need to do is visit any major city. They are after all reflections of our society. Red or blue they are all the same shit …
People high as fuck dying in the streets.
Dirt and filth everywhere …
shitty new architecture that’s all grayscale, cheap and built to last months.
highest earners are whores on OF for women and pyramid schemers for the bros.
No respect for science or art because those traces have been destroyed by years of incompetence.
fucked politicized schools that bring nothing to society other than more cooked mentally unstable humans who can’t/shouldnt procreate….
Rome is burning

I would admit that some of it is less than ideal, but we are outta time. Its gotta move fast. Trump tired slow in 2016 and was roadblocked the whole way, so this is the answer.SAWCE wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 12:15 pmgolftdibrad1 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 12:09 pm

you can yell and scream dictator all you want. People that left actual dictators and 3rd world (legally) voted for the orange man. We are all along for the ride, hyperbole over reacting and crying wolf isn't helping the already insane amount of noise. I know where biden's did. Guy was absent at every level: policy, communication, plans, delivery. One of the biggest political shames swept under the rug in our lifetime.
Trumpkin has delivered everything he said.
actions have consequences. let orange man cook.
Lets find those 9M dead votes while at it. And jail anyone complicit in keeping shitty election rigging going.

What Trump's administration is doing looks a whole fucking lot like Libertarianism to me, or at least what a Libertarian president would do upon getting elected - at least a Ron Paul one.

Biden was very lame duck and lost the support of his party partway through his presidency. He had no chance at beating Trump in a second round, he should have thrown in the towel way earlier than he did.dubshow wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 12:36 pmyou can yell and scream dictator all you want. Win win win
The entire dem party threw in the towel... this has been building for years. They strayed much too far from the bounds of center.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 12:43 pmBiden was very lame duck and lost the support of his party partway through his presidency. I would have voted for Tulsi gabard against clinton... but she was just too.... sane and logical. Look what the Dem party did to her!
Then we had Rand Paul.. another sane and logical candidate cast aside for the great circus show!

just some bros trying to buy a new car every year while crying how poor we are.

Trump is a rich dude with a rich dad, who for some reason many dumb poor people worship as do some really rich people. He is the world's greatest sales guy and he's been able to amass a huge following as such. He has blatant disregard for the law (for example pardoning violent protestors on the capitol, the whole claiming the 2020 election was faked thing, being a felon himself) and believes he can go forth unchecked and do whatever the hell he wants and make rules for whoever he wants. If that isn't a dictator, what is?
I believe that there are plenty of people, departments, and initiatives that need to be made more efficient or even eliminated. Like any job, people need to be accountable in the government (and I believe many, hopefully most but I don't know that, are currently).
But if you're in the 'run the gov like a business' camp... well, what business would be made better by scaring all of the employees, firing many who you know nothing about nor what they do, and incentivizing all of them to stop giving a fuck about their jobs?

Imo we’re working poor. I can’t even afford a shitty house within 20 miles of my work…
IMO middle class means:
Being able to raise a family of 3 kids in a safe city.
Own an average house
Have retirement account and savings
Go on occasional vacations with the family
Have no real debt outside of mortgage
