Does anyone know if the addition of the supercharger (one I was catching shit for) is doing a number on the reliability.Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 11:46 amThe new ones are very likely to be electrified or share quite a bit with Volvo since they're owned by the same company.
I think the Evora will go down as the best Lotus before the Chinese got involved. It's an actual livable car unlike the Elise, bulletproof reliability using a Camry engine, but still maintains the Lotus "charm".
I love the Evora.
Appreciating cars... suggestions ? What's the current trend ?

LC500 convertible. High price of entry but I'd be shocked if they don't hover near msrp for years.
I still think the 97-02 SL500 is nearly the best option in this thread without spending $50k or more.

Would be a good one to buy and drive, but resale would be a PITA.

Coupe manual if you want maximum value retention and appreciation. The verts don’t hold value as well.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 11:58 am https://www.vegasautogallery.com/inventory/

I've wanted one for a while. Just not sure they'll ever be worth much.

I think these have a way to fall. Seems like right now, non-electrified stuff has the most upside.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 11:56 am Hmm what about a BMW I8?

I want one...just concerned about maintenance requirements. I think that would be cost prohibitive on these.

That's the big one.
I honestly think these don't have a floor. They're going to be a disaster to keep going in the future.

It seems like 5k a year is the rule of thumb. Which doesn’t seem terribad. If the value keeps going up by the same amountDetroit wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 12:27 pmBecause it's fantastic!!?max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 11:58 am https://www.vegasautogallery.com/inventory/

I brought these up once and was almost drummed out of the forum for liking a Ferrari with the "engine in the wrong place." I have never heard any tale of their ease of maintenance (relatively speaking) until this morning.
550 Maranellos and 575Ms are proper pasta chariots.
612s canthough.

Isn't an E90 M3
kind one of the safest relatively low costs bets? Last N/A M3. A good looking car my any measure. Yes, you have to replace the bearings but you could buy a whole spare engine for the cost of one engine out Ferrari service no?

The maintenance costs for those services are quite expensive. Figure about 4-5k for the bearings, and 7-8k for the Ferrari engine out every 3 years.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 12:58 pm Isn't an E90 M3kind one of the safest relatively low costs bets? I don’t like 00-14 bmws, they seem be literally some of the worst built cars known to man.
Also M3s (of that gen) are dime a dozen and not superbly interesting as they are currently on their 5th owners spinning doughnuts in East Oakland.

IIRC, the Evora was one of the first Lotus cars offered in auto?
