Hmm I don't believe my fake sport had "dynamic" traction control. The m3 did... the fake sport and the mini have a TC off which puts it into a pseudo sport mode for DSC, and then DSC full off. Those are the two settings.

Mini certainly has 3 throttle maps
Sport which is epic
Regular which is great
Green which works great for commuting

I don't have adjustable suspension so same same

And then regular wheel/sport which is SUPER STIFF but feels good too.

On top of that trans has 3 modes as well... regular/sport is manually selectable and green lets the car freewheel on the freeway.

Most of the nice riding stuff looks very soccer mom which also adds to the challenge since none of that is really unique looking. If you do find an FJ you like you're going to have to buy it on the spot from the sound of things. I'm sure more will pop up, the good thing is that you know the market better now that you've seen all three candidates sell quickly.

Yea .... but I just didn’t know enough back then... my options at that point in time were 26k for a 2012 with 72k miles or 18.6k plus 2 k clutch for a 2007. The 12 seemed like a better deal.

The MSRP of a :wrangler: that I like is around 42k. After decent negotiating you can get that down to 32-34k. A low mile FJ is actually MORE expensive than that... sub 40k miles =35k+ for something 6 years old or older. I think that's def out of my budget...

I don't mind something older unless it feels beat to shit... and 150k+ mile FJs are all beat to shit based on my drives.
There are 3 categories of FJs.
2007-09 models - Rear end issues, fender issues (haven't seen any). 12-20k depending on miles 60k>200k. Directly correlated with price.
2010+ with 60-130k miles, ~20-30k
2013+ 's with sub 50k miles that people seem to want 35-50k

I think I'd like to stick with a 2010+ model as it comes with no known issues... as the 07s are too old, and 13+ are way too expensive as they cost more than a new JLU

The potential "upcharge" for a 10+ model seems neglible, once you figure in the fact that they are 3>6 years younger with 40-80k less miles... Finding a clean one is key. Which isn't super easy... the search continues.
