Yea the sleep imo is actually kind of easier when they are sub 1 month in some ways… sleeping through stuff etc it’s just unstructured
Yeah I’m not looking forward to when the dog barking wakes her up. We’ll have to put notes on all our orders to just leave shit downstairs by the garage door and go get them ourselves. Dog will bark if she even senses someone by the front door without them knocking or ringing the bell.
If the bassinet is in her room then a sound machine might be all you need for the dog barking.

Made steak and shrimp cocktail for dinner tonight for a little at home date too. First steak of the year for me, did a ribeye on the grill, pretty good.

So what else is going on besides Max, Rudy, and I talking baby shit? Anyone do anything cool this weekend? Let me live vicariously through you!
Saw Coheed and Cambria and Primus last night with a couple of buddies, probably the weekend highlight for me. Went for a bike ride both days and a hike today with and Fairly chill overall but a great weekend. Not stoked on working tomorrow.
I was seriously considering going to see C&C in Cincinnati, but it was on a Tuesday. I'm too old for a midweek concert, sadly.

there are a very small handful of bands in willing to see midweek these days. One of them at least recognizes that we’re all getting older and makes sure their shows are over by 9PM on weeknights

Right now during the day we have a bassinet downstairs with us, but today I’m going to install the Owlet camera in her room and then we’re going to start doing naps on her own up there since we’ll be able to monitor via that and the Owlet sock. Hope it goes well. We’ve got a sound machine for her too that well for sure set in the room with her. That’s been plugged in in our room for now since she sleeps there at night.

I hear that. Last time they came I didn't go for the same reason. My HS buddy who went and I were huge fans back in the day but he works at 6 AM and was a hard pass on the weeknight thing. Glad they came on Saturday this time.
I am similar to and mostly didn't follow them as much after 2007 or so, but they stuck with mostly old favorites and I knew the couple of newer songs they played. I was in Cincy last week, we could've gone if it was then Solid show, wish the set was a bit longer.

Hopefully not... I'm guessing he's just living life and not as active as some of us who seem to never get away for too long.

Pretty wild… so an area that I considered to live in back in 2020…. Is currently projected to decrease by 4% and is currently around the same price as it was 4 years ago… who in their right mind would buy now.

Got a quick workout in. Feelsgoodman. Hit two warm up sets then went two sets each to failure on incline press, flat press, pulldowns, and rows.

All the retaining walls we had to have built were way over our budget for them, so the rest of the yard development had to be put on hold. We just let that shit grow wild, but I’m sick of looking at it, so I’m having someone come cut it all back and hit everything with weed killer next month. We’ve got a fence finally being built at the end of October, so I want it cleared for them to be able to do their work too. Once the fence is up we’ll start slow rolling getting the earth tilled in spots and adding some sod and other stuff.

I'm with Dirk, my life has greatly improved since I got a yard guy. I still do the heavy lifting on maintenance but ~100 a month for just the cut and trim is money well spent.
Plus I can write it off against my rental income

I need to get on this train. Yardwork takes way too much of my limited amount of free time.

I’m sure it will be really nice when complete but that’s a lot of work for sure. We have an area of the backyard that we just let go wild. It’s mostly tall grass now that we pulled out the weed flower things. But we have no idea what to do with it. I might take a weed whacker to it next week.
Picking up two weed whackers from a neighbor on buy nothing today. They don’t work but I’m pretty sure it’ll be easy to get them running again. It’s generally just a spark plug issue. Two stroke motors are simple things.
My big issue with my yard is all the mosquitoes. They’re everywhere. And I can’t seem to get rid of them no matter what I put down or traps I put out. So next year we will be majorly thinning out the plants so the ground can dry up between rains.
