That was actually a requirement when we were house shopping back in 2021. I refused to buy a place where the TV could only go above the fireplace. Wife doesn't mind, but I refuse to entertain the idea. I'm not a giraffe.

When we built or BR house i redisiged the fireplace /entertainment center to be more of a moderen offset and avoided this.

Current house.... over the fireplace. Oh well. its old, tvs weren't even invented yet.
