For me:

2022 Tacoma TURD. Sold due to lack of use and need at the moment. Super long term it made perfect sense to keep around... but short term (1-3 years :nope:)
2016 Mini Cooper JCW. Sold due to lack of space for current life requirements. Yet tons of fun great color and one unfortunate scar due to woman killing a deer.

I NEED to have my cars garaged. I can't stand keeping them outside. :triggered: unless I manage to get them covered by a ghetto tarp or whatever. So that narrows it down to 2 cars for me... One needs to be a family car at the moment and one a commuter. So I am by default out of space.

But that's my list.... I don't really miss/want to keep anything else I had.

2006 Miata - Because fun
2002 Corvette - Because obviously
2003 Dodge Dakota - Just a nice simple NFG :truk:
2004 Ford Ranger - 4.0L 5-Speed, Same reason as the Dakota
I'd love to have been able to keep the Bromaro, it was fun

That's all I can think of. V8's and Truks.
I'll put on some country on my way home. I really am a southern boy @ heart.

If I had unlimited space and a personal mechanic like Leno? none.

Ones I regret?

My first Miata, black stupid charged

The mk4 golf TDI. should have just kept vs trade for nearly nothing.

I guess those are the only real regrets.

Id have loved to have kept the Mazdaspeed Miata if I had the time to put the love into it it needed.

while not displeased with the current lineup, I got there because I had to sell the mk6 GTI. I loved that car and was sad to see it go.

Yeah if it weren’t for the ECM issue I would have likely kept the GTI for a long long time. Loved that car.

Honestly my 2004 TSX, 2nd most reliable car I've owned now that i have the accord. That can practically can be my beater/work commuter and still looks classy and timeless. Perhaps a 6 speed manual swap would be even better.

Believe it or not the mk6 is a great contender too, but granted I only owned that car for only almost 40k miles so :notsure: With the way i've done it up to that point that is. Can't say the same about the mk7 though.

I don't miss the MK6. It was a good car, but I'd rather have a Fiesta ST, it drives much better.

MK6 with a LSD and defeatable ESP might be a different story. Stg 2 power in that car was a hoot.

Good thread.

As mentioned elsewhere, the car I miss most is my 1986 Scirocco 16V. It threw its timing belt less than 20,000, miles before it was due to be replaced. :rage: It was so fun and pretty damn reliable over its long life and I definitely wasn't ready to part with it when I was forced to.

Next would be my Mk6 for similar reasons. It too was quite fun and reliable and I was not ready to get rid of it but fucking Stuart and his F150 had other plans.

Don't really miss my Mk4, which, by the way, is still being DD'd to this day at 26 years old!

It remains to be seen whether or not I'll miss the Blue Meanie when its time comes. :notsure:

:dat: I did a turo rental last year with a mini cooper jcw :manual: for a few days, took it to md, wv roads along side of appalachians. Love it and blows the mk6 out of the water. I still miss it from time to time.

Oh interesting thread. If it’s limited to cars that were sold… none of them for me. Really. The GTI was a basket case. The STI I’m past that point in my life and don’t want something that intense. My Focus was a pile.

If we broaden it to vehicles that are gone from an accident there is one. My 1999 F150. It was a bright red super cab with the flare side bed, packing a 4.6l V8. It was a riot and dependable and my stupid teenage ass got it T boned when I misjudged how far away a minivan was. I still miss that truck. None of my cars have ever come close to bringing me as much joy as that truck did.

I miss both the STi and the MK7 GTI, which one I'd prefer to have back totally depends on the day. I'd take either back over the GR86.

Yeah kind of. Except I can’t stomach a vehicle that gets 12 mpg. Hence why I don’t have a truck. They’re also way larger now than they were in the late 90s.

It looked like this

I somewhat regret selling my 2004 mk4 gli 1.8t. The recaros, brakes, wheels, trim etc where just special. I needed the money to move on to other things though. Early 20s is hard to wrench, mod, and keep a car on the road with minimal income and growing adulting requirements. I'd have loved to go big turbo and make 350whp in it, along with support upgrades.

I regret selling my mk7.5 :gorf: It was a great car. It wasn't "as special" as previous Rs, but still great. I'd have kept it forever, if nothing was an object. Curious if the crankwalk issue on :manuel: cars is overblown on forums. I would have liked a spektrum color car tho, one of the greens, or a ginster yellow. Of course that came out for 2019....

my first street bike. 2000 SV650 in blue. was PERFECT. and I could never replace it for what I bought and sold it for - $1,900. large regret.

What’s the crankwalk?

Funny I’m pretty sure I had a 2000 sv650 also. But I don’t regret selling it

Good thread idea. The only car I really think about at all is my corvette. That was my favorite car and I sometimes wish I still had one. They just sound great, go fast, are sprinting practical and great dailies with dece reliability.

I occasionally think about the 328i just because it would make a great NFG dad beater but it just never quite drove well enough for me, mostly due to the meh manual trans/rev hang and mute steering feel.

I still think Miata’s are dope, but mine was an epic POS and I don’t really fit well, so I don’t miss it really.

I truly never think about my :mk6: , good car, not really special or interesting enough.

I think I’ll miss the Wrangler if we ever get a different family car. It has some major cons but it’s just kind of a neat/fun thing. I feel like everyone should own a Wrangler at some point. Preferably two door manual, but they’re all fun.

Yep, especially post your mods it has a great chassis, good brakes, and a forgettable but decent enough engine. The cold start with my BROla install is very :wtf: but it even sounds aight once you get past that.

I don't think I will rock a three series again unless it's an M though. And I really don't need an M or the maintenance costs associated, so :iono:

I saw a :manuel: new Z4 in green while on vacation last weekend and it was so hot.

Yeah the new Z4 is pretty dope.

I'd rock another F30, but I'd want the B58 with a :manuel: or an ///M

IMO rev hang is beyond frustrating. Wouldn’t this car be better with the automatic?

Lady :melon: 's X3 has the N20 with the ZF8, it's not a bad combo at all, but the :manuel: was more fun.
It only was a let down when driving it hard, the 328i was a great 7/10ths car.

:dat: the rev hang sucked on the track, it was mostly ok.

:iono: the ZF is def a better transmission but I’d get the manual again 10 times out of 10. I just like it and I don’t commute.

I'll always choose the manual option.

Unless I'm doing timed racing. Autos have much better gear ratios.
