Wife is also tired of paying apple tax; that said 269 for a first gen is less than some of the other watches we were considering. Thanks for infoz

Quick review after one day with the moto 360 sport:
1. always on time is awesome. Yes the screen is a bit dim compared to a digial watch (think inverted) but its certnaly readable. This makes the watch function...as a watch 24/7.
2. Battery is ok so far. I charged this am while getting ready after overnight use for sleep tracking, and yesterday while i showered.
3. the voice to text depends on a good bluetooth or wifi connection to reach out and touch the internet for direction. If your phone is not near and the wifi is off.... its awful. So far...its been 'ok' at recognizing speech / commands.
4. the display and interface are beautiful.

Maybe if the ticwatch proves to be good I'll consider for the next one.
