That's it! I knew it had a special name.

I mean is the whole point to go fast around the track? Cuz that’s what it seemed like if you’re adding R compound tires etc. at that point auto tragic and mid engine make way more sense.
But yea I get it… to a point. At which it’s trying to hard and takes away from the experience.
I’m with you that the tires don’t make sense on a dual purpose car, what you’d really need is two wheel sets.max225 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 12:21 amI mean is the whole point to go fast around the track? Also people who actually track a lot do it in E30-46, Miata’s, Camaros, C5s, etc.
it’s badass as hell, no car makes sense for over $100k but that’s not really the point.
There is no logic in any of these things.max225 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 12:21 amI mean is the whole point to go fast around the track? Cuz that’s what it seemed like if you’re adding R compound tires etc. at that point auto tragic and mid engine make way more sense.

These are cars bought with the heart, not the head.

Crazytown question of the day.
I have lately been semi seriously considering a ranger raptor to replace the cuckoma. I ended up driving a Bronco badlands (can write up a review if anyone is interested) last week and just been thinking of something like that in the fleet vs a mothball
Why?
You get the bronco raptor powertrain for 57k vs 90k
It actually fits in my garage
It has 2” more rear leg room than my Tacoma
It has good tech
Woman can drive it
It actually has some balls and may offset whatever I lose due to manual by actually sounding decent/going quick.
I have not seen anything else under 60k that hits all these boxes (new)

It’s not “cheap” but I mean an E class was that amount 20 years ago when the minimum wage was 1/2 of what it is now for most. You can get a regular ranger for 35 but this is a fancy truk with more power than a Ferrari from the 90s and better suspension than a rolls

May have done a drive by a dealer today … but didn’t see the one listed on their site. Also it’s 2 days till 25 and 24s are without discount it may be prudent to order juan.
Need to figure out if my local dealer takes X plan
Yeah it’s a cool and price.max225 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 5:13 pmIt’s not “cheap” but I mean an E class was that amount 20 years ago when the minimum wage was 1/2 of what it is now for most. What happened to the 911, M3, Hype R, etc. debate though?

Woman can’t drive the hype R. And I don’t want to buy a 911 or m3 on a single income.D Griff wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 9:31 pmYeah it’s a cool and price.max225 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 5:13 pm

The Raptor would then turn into a road trip vehicle while the IX gets replaced by a commuter in 2 yrs.
Also fuck having kids

At first, I was like nah, cause you know, baby truck. However, I just looked at it online and honestly that price ain’t bad. That shelter green kinda fux. It’s also fuckin huge for a “Mid” size truck.
It has a 12v and a 400w outlet built into the bed. That’s fucking dope. Front and rear mechanical locks, but less than 11 inches of ground clearance? Not like you’re doing a ton of off roading, but that’s not exactly ideal.
I kinda like it. You get a lot for your money here. It lacks a little something aesthetically. I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe it’s the mirrors, maybe it’s the color of the skid plate, I don’t know. Seems off to me. But I do like it.

Even midsize trucks are borderline too large. Full sizers are straight up antisocial at this point.J-Ho-Fo-Show69 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 7:31 amAt first, I was like nah, cause you know, baby truck.
