I won't lie, part of the reason I didn't buy a new Odyssey in 2022 was the Fischer Price gauge cluster. Thank goodness they fixed that for 2025.

It's all in the execution, that is indeed uggo. I've really not minded the digital gauges in the GR86.

I prefer an analog tach and speedo with a small screen inbetween, but if a digital dash is done right it's not the end of the world. But I've driven a MK7.5 Golf R with the digital dash and a MK7.5 GTI with analog gauges back to back, and there's no question I prefer the latter. The lack of depth from the screen is simply boring a plain to look at by comparison.

One thing I'm not wild about is the linear tach in the 86 in track mode...

May be an unpopular opinion but I hate linear tachs too. And it seems like lots of new cars are using them for track mode. The one in the Mk8 R is so tiny at the top of the screen.

The whole dial thing has been working for a loooong time. Clocks should also be round. Which is why I hate the Apple watch :lolol:

I loved the gauges in the S2000. The linear tach was great, but I don't like the BRZ linear tach much. The uneven spacing is kind of lame if you're not really on the track. It also looks weird when the screen is round, then they put the linear tach in the middle.

The S2000 AP1 honestly had perfect gauges. It wouldn't say no to more modern colors, or using an actual LCD screen instead, but the layout can't be beat. The AP2 looks weird by cutting it short.

Agreed, the scaled down 0-4K RPMs thing just sucks. I get that on track, that's where you are. The one track day I did in it, it was OK. But I never go into track mode because of that :lolol:

I also don't do anything in my car that's remotely exciting, I'm almost always shifting at 4-5K.

It's so torquey you don't really need to IMO. Plus it starts sounding a bit like a box of rocks above 5k.

I was just thinking the other day... I actually really like the sound of my car, even though it seems to be universally disliked by most. Maybe the GR exhaust is the one to have. :iono: if it's worth the $2500 or whatever they want for it, but it's a nice little addition to the 10th AE package without having the wife go all :sass: on blowing $1K on an exhaust.

:lolol: I am going through this right now. Cobb has their titanium cat-back knocked down to $825 through the end of October, it was $1,495 when they initially released it.

I told :tits: I'm straight up selling the car if she's so bothered by me spending $825 on an exhaust. So...either I'll have a fun exhaust soon or I will :rage: quit the idea of having a fun car.

Yep, an exhaust is a HARD sell given she hates loud cars :lolol:

My next door neighbor owns a landscaping company and has this obnoxious lifted RAM and it's loud as fuck. Every time he starts it up, she's like 'that's what your car sounds like to the rest of the street'

I get the same :tits: :sass:

I've been saying from the day I brought this car home that it needs two things - a decent set of coilovers and an exhaust. I've had it for more than two years and have done neither. That she's giving me so much shit about now that I actually want to do one of them is beyond annoying.

Our deal is I'm the fleet manager. The fleet manager is responsible for fully maintained vehicles that start and run without excuse or failure. If the fleet manager feels BROLA is warranted, no complaints are made.
