I REALLY love this
I’m so torn. The cool factor is immense and it looks stunning… but driving a 90s automatic transmission is a pretty hard no for me.

Weirdly I’ve been thinking a bit about a V10 manual M5. Saw one today on my bike ride and it was so hot. And so affordable.

:lolol:
I've heard the gearing and torque converter choice are pretty aggressive on these cars. The SLK manual also bolts up to the V8. Manual swapped ones exist and would be awesome, but obviously not for anyone here to tackle.

The V10 M6 has grown on me like crazy the last few years

M2 has a back seat and why is it stupid with a manual? Manual means 50% discount on depreciation.
Manual means my other half can’t drive the damn thing. Making it a singular purpose vehicle and a singular driver.

So if I take the car to work because it’s an “ev” she’s stuck at home doing jack shit. I don’t think that will fly long term. And I don’t want to pile 100 mile r/t on an m2 with a steek. It will get destroyed.

Yea. Full cuck mode. I can do whatever I want with the second car but then it’ll just end up parked … like the truck which got sub 1k miles in a year. Given that I have a CF and a dog, solo outings are still rare.

And now that the woman isn’t working budgets are a bit more tight.

Truck did end up saving me money today. Given that we have 32 people coming over we decided to cater food and instead of them coming out and charging an extra $300 for the pick up and set up … we’re doing it ourselves. Truck carried a ton of random shit … $500 of liquor … 8 foot table, chafing dishes etc

When I moved into our apartment last year, with our enterprise van I happened to park next to an abandoned SLK with a :manuel: in the garage and appears to have a wheel not hanging on to it. I thought I could grab it as a barn find. But it wasn't there for so long until it was gone

My uncle has a v10 m6, those things are a true menace, and also for the wallet. Doesn't really drive it everyday.

So I think I'm going to keep this beast. Drove it to work today, and it's a stellar vehicle. For those who don't have the history, I inherited this 2018 S5 and was planning on selling it, but it has some significant carfax scars and would need to be sold for under 30k CAD, which is sub new Corolla valuation, at least anything mid-grade or higher.

The resale value on it doesn't align with how nice of a vehicle it is, and knowing that it has the ZF8 transmission brings me some piece of mind. I'm going to offer it to my dad first, but if he decides that he doesn't want it I'll throw a cover on it and store it in the garage. Need to make space for it :doe: , the garage is a hot mess and it won't fit without some mods to the wooden bench I have in there.

It needs work! The front grill is aftermarket, and blocks the front parking sensor, so that thing just goes off every time I'm muddling around in a parking lot/driveway.
Service inspection light, oil change interval, and probably most fluids due now. Front drivers side power mirror works, but isn't aligned with the range of motion required for optimal viewing angle.

Other than that, it's perfect. Pads and rotors are new, tars are good, both summer and winter sets, and I didn't notice any alignment issues or anything else in the driving range to need attention. It's tight as a drum with no leaks, but I need to keep an eye on things, specifically the coolant levels.

It'll get the love it deserves.
Just rolled over the 100k miles.

Anyone know if there's a way to reset the inspection now reminder? Oil interval can be cleared via MMI

Cammie is posted up for low 30s. A stealer can get away with posting and selling them for mid to high 30s, but they have financing supports, and the optics of a trusted vehicle. It can probably sell for 30 even. Inclusive of tax, that's a 10k depreciation curve over 2.5 yrs and about 60k miles. Reasonable I suppose.

I may want to keep both if it can't sell at 30, I'll need a beater car for when my 13 y/o starts driving. Basically, if I keep both cars ill be set for transportation for the next decade or more. :scrooge: thoughts.. :iono:

B&O stereo is bonkers. Mind you I'm coming from a Cammie with the four speaker paper cone config, but it has a subwoofer, surround level which splits highs and lows as well as stereo l/r up smartly to give a more 3D effect. Noticeable even with BT feed. It's a very nice system considering that it's stock.

That’s why I was asking. I can’t stand base stereos, enjoy the ride :)

It's not great. The dash and door cards have a decent enough vinyl material they should have put on the wheel.

Should've got a CRV or a Pilot. The passenger seat is so close to the floor my mom had to move to the back seat.

Yeah the passenger seat position is flat out strange in the accord. Tons of complaints online about the seat being super low.

Does Honda still do that weird cost cutting where the passenger seat has no height adjustment. It annoyed the hell out of me in the Tsx ironically that one was too tall

MPG is good though, and no complaints at all about the 1.5T/cvt combo.
