Getting some traction over here. They just broke Michelle’s bag of water. She should go into active labor here sooner than later now. Good chance she delivers today vs tomorrow now, but I guess active labor can still be quite long for some women especially when it’s their first.

Michelle went natural as long as she could, but she was struggling not pushing with contractions when it wasn’t time to push yet, so she tried a few pain management things but eventually got an epidural. I’m sure that will slow things down a bit, so who now’s what the timeline is gonna look like, but my guess is that it’ll be around midnight or in the early hours of the morning tomorrow. Man it’s tough watching your woman go through that pain. Wonder how much worse it will be when she’s actually pushing the baby out.
She’s resting up now, so I’m going to try to nap a bit myself. What a long process. Sucks we had to go this long induction route, but such is life. I’m just along for the ride at this point.

Well to be fair she’s not really natural now. She should listen to the docs and her body to see what the next step should be. Just fyi C section took 30 min and shit was done… buuuuut recovery is longer and there is a scar. Yeah for sure. She would still like to avoid the c section unless medically necessary. But man it’d be nice to get this shit over with.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 11:00 pmWell to be fair she’s not really natural now. Last exam she was 6.5cm so she’s officially in “active labor”..

Pretty much all of my friends in nova, let alone a few who are actually married dont have kids or perhaps on the fence of considering or not. and I's friends, well her, but I get along with their boyfriends pretty well anyway and they don't seem like planning on it, I know a couple who finalized that decision. But my friends in Turkey who are either married or in serious relationships plan to intend to have kids and those who are married popped out already.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 8:42 pmInteresting, I have very few friends who have. Reached out to a group of my college friends I keep up with today about a trip before the birth happens for me. Six guys plus me and one has two kids, one is married with zero plans of CF, the rest, single. None of my friends here in Charlotte really have kids either although pretty much all of do. I also think more people are one and done or two tops compared to boomers and their parents.ChrisoftheNorth wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 8:37 pm Oh, and all this large scale handwringing about declining birthrate or whatever, I don't know anyone not reproducing these days other than myself.
You’re right though, this place has taken a hard swing from the meat spin days to now days…
