It’s not just the car seat you always have to take a mountain of shit with you wherever you take the puker. Like a stroller for ex. My stroller takes up 1/2 my not so small trunk in the IX to a point where I can’t take it grocery shopping.
Just sharing what I’ve experienced. You will always default to convenience. Because there is enough on your mind already. My kid rode in the taco … 1x in the last 8 months … surely it’ll change going forward. But I’m also thinking about other cars as well. never sleeps

QFT, the man is a disease.
Although, I did get to give my wife som perspective this weekend.... the guy we were at camping site next to had 17 cars. Varying classic and muscle cars. Most in good to show car shape, or less than 5 years old. Including a hellkitty & SRT heep. Sure they are clearly rich, but you get the idea. I said something along the lines of "makes the 12k poverty bmw and the want for a newer but used miata at the same time look pretty fucking reasonable, eh?" And i got the 'ehhhh yea.....'
Congrats on the loading offspring Daniel Son. I must have missed where the last one didn't stick

Thanks guys. Yeah it’s been a long road but whatever. Have had many good times b in the DINK period where it didn’t work out.golftdibrad1 wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 9:37 amQFT, the man is a disease.

I can’t even imagine 17 cars, I feel like taking care of two cars and a meager house is a full time job in itself.

If I thought that thing would run more than 1k miles, maybe! That would be the ultimate redneck carD Griff wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:53 amYou won't...J-Ho-Fo-Show69 wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 11:21 pm Sawce, mini cooper competition… https://www.facebook.com/share/yozY3KnW ... tid=79PoIi

It appears the single ignition coil is like $30 on FCP Euro. I'd do it.

Makes sense to just knock it all out any once. Don't recall seeing anything about spark plugs or coil packs in the maintenance/service records.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 11:55 amIt appears the single ignition coil is like $30 on FCP Euro. I'd do it.

Nothing more irritating that recurring ignition issues because you were cheap.

Shortly after I reinstalled my newly rebuilt Beetle engine into the car 6 friends and I took a little road trip downstate to U of I campus to, among other things, have lunch at Steak and Shake. 3 in the Beetle and 4 in Mom's Mk1 GTI being driven by my brother. Beetle ran strong all the way down and while driving around Champagne, IL. Come time to drive home and, you guessed it, Beetle wouldn't start. It cranked fine, but wouldn't catch. So 7 of us pile into the GTI and drive home, with me in the hatch, a 2 hour drive. Next morning I rent a van with a tow hitch and with my brother drive back down to Champaign and tow the Beetle home. Got home and, after a few minutes of diagnosing, determined that the ignition coil was bad. Yup, it was the ONE thing I didn't replace when I built the motor.
Change the coil,

That’s weird that plugs weren’t done yet. I had to do them at 40k on my mini (rip).SAWCE wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 12:38 pmMakes sense to just knock it all out any once. Also your car is old enough where you want to do cheap preventative maintenance stuff. Coils at 10 years old or older are a maintenance item. Swap em out

They may have been done, I just can’t remember seeing anything in any of the paperwork I have. Been in SD the last few days for our baby shower, so wasn’t able reference anything to check. Even if they were done around 40k, she’s approaching 80k, so makes sense they’d be due again.
Plugs are getting delivered today, grabbed a 4 pack on Amazon prime for <$30. I’ll order plugs when I get home later this morning.

Alright.. Delphi/OEM coil pack delivers today, and figured might as well do the spark plug wires too, so got some NGK wires on order and they’ll show up tomorrow. All in cost of $95.

One thing to be careful with … Amazon has been iffy with oem stuff water under the bridge of course …. eBay has been weird about that too. Apparently plugs are now counterfeit …
