The build quality on any E Class is going to be a world away from a BMW 3/4 Series. They are just better cars. But the Bimmmer has been great so far. At then end of the month I will do a major service on it.

The way the doors shut on the silver bullet was divine. Vault. Bmws sound like disgusting tincans in comparison.

My coworker is really into old luxo cars. He owns an Acura Legend and Vigor, a 1997 S Class, an LS400, a 2000ish 740i, I believe a newer C Class his wife drives. He also had an E class of the loved era on here with like 280k miles that his daughter totaled. It has made me appreciate Mercedes more as a brand. They’ve never been my thing but his have really been quite durable and dependable.

I rode in the 1997 S Class recently and it is The windows are like a half inch thick.

I think in black on black it is the ultimate mid 90s Yakuza/Bratva peak mafia car. I think they are kind of fugly compared to the later MBs but I think they will age into something special for sure...

He also has a Slingshot that I've driven and he's done donuts in with me in the work parking lot

I haven't seen the 740i yet, it is a silver with a lavender/purple hue and mint, I'm excited about it. I don't know how he has time to maintain all that though. He also travels a lot for the job, same role as me.

I’ll probably finally buy a jack and some stands in the coming weeks and then I’ll change the oil, throw those strut tower protectors on just for some peace of mind, and then slowly start attacking of few of the minor issues.

Has it really been 15 months already ? Wild … I’m at 19 months with the taco and 9k miles. We’re about the same pace… but I only put on 500 miles in the last 9 months

Yes, those 3. My commute isn't terrible by american standards, about 30 miles a day round trip. Miata gets driven every couple weeks to work or curvy road.

In a dream world, would just drive a and I'd love to one car household it with a Hype R or something. She actually drives almost every day though, even though she could take the train or bike to work in about the same time, not all that interested in doing so.
