I remember lusting over that exact blue on white interior E39 M5 at the car show when I was a teenager. It was probably the first car that ever made me feel things. Still love it just as much now!

It's still one of the handsomest BMW sedans ever made, IMO.

Yeah, but not too comfortably. It's a bit better than an NA/NB/ND. IIRC my hair just brushes the roof slightly.

I do miss convertible life but as far as the lightweight shit goes, the 86 is just so much more comfy and usable for me at 6'1" mostly torso, plus can fit some shit and/or my dog.

I won't lie, @dubshow has made me think about 'verts more, a 911 or M3 'vert would be dope.

Makes me think of that time you picked me up at the airport and ripped it in the M3 and the shift knob flew into the back seat :lolol:

 If you can build an E30 from the ground up, you're good for it. You're probably the perfect buyer for that thing honestly, you have the skills and patience to work on it at home. That will bankrupt someone paying a nice shop for everything.

I worked with a customer at my last company who daily drove an E39 M5 in much worse shape with a ton of miles. He took me for a spin in it and it was sweet if not a little rough around the edges. He said it definitely needed a bit of care and feeding but nothing insane. This was like, 2017ish.

The one I sent a link to has well documented major service. Sure, there will be old BMW issues, but the big ticket items seem to be well taken car of.

I still want an NC Club. I keep waiting for them to drop in price but, by now it might only be a few thousand more to get an ND.2. They were hovering around 18-25k for the longest time.

That car was rough but, by the time I sold it all the major issues were fixed. The current owner has driven it to Colorado and back and regularly takes trips to Houston in it.

Yeah, just be prepared for vert bullshit with tops. Jury still on the car out but I do like most everything about it. I replaced the pinched hydraulic line 2 weeks ago but had to wait on a ceiling clip i broke in process. Its really fast and handles well for a big heavy vert. The literally strings to pull headliner back give me some small anxiety. The power top is very intricate.

I mean at MSRP seems fine? Times are tough, everyone’s getting laid off, no one wants a $65k Civic anymore.

Dude I've always been Boxster over Gayman, and always liked the idea of a 911 vert. They definitely don't look as good as the coup but you get the open top experience in a lighter weight package than the targa, and at basically half the price used.

Yep the cost benefit is great! I was always kind of closed off to them due to tracking but in my old age I’m becoming more into cruising :lolol:

A good Tail of the Dragon run is perfection. Loved the targa too :doe:

I probably won’t be Porscheing though… or doing any :plac: anytime soon.

Speaking of TOTD, there is a back of the dragon road, which is near the Tennessee and WV border in VA. Next weekend :tits: and I are going there cause her mom is graduating nursing school. Turns out it's only 20 miles away, I think with Accord is doable. It's got fresh 245 tires.

Roads like that are fun in just about anything, I’d say worth it.
