Those are some great tires if you ever hit those WNC twisties! Not necessarily as much if you're out there pounding highway miles.J-Ho-Fo-Show69 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 12:32 pm
These tires have been on the chopping block since I purchased. Just cannot decide what I wanna put on in its place.

It's hilarious that GM Mag Ride cars are all the cat's meow but Mag Ride in trucks sucks ass. I was just looking at magdelelte.com the other day for my next move on the Tahoe. That and losing the 22's.

Too stiff. Apparently things get really bad if they essentially seize, but now it's just a pointlessly stiff ride. The 22's don't help, stupid wheel size. The lowest I can go is 20" because of the BBK, and I will do that with something like this...https://www.fueloffroad.com/wheel/12021 ... =22&lugs=6.Melon2.0 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 2:05 pmOh dang! It seems like this vehicle requires a lot of mods to make it right considering MSRP is nearly six figs.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 2:15 pmToo stiff. Fair. MSRP for the truck in 2019 was $78K. BBK and Brola with Chevy Part numbers push that into the low 80s. I drove a much "lesser" version with 17's and 60K mile regular old GM shocksand it rode a lot better, surprise surprise.D Griff wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 3:51 pmIt seems like this vehicle requires a lot of mods to make it right considering MSRP is nearly six figs.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 2:15 pm

There are a lot of SUV owners giving up a lot of ride comfort and practical use in exchange for the "look" illustrated by Max.

It's hard to find 20 inch + wheels that are not some kind of baroque medley of nonsensical design. It's like the basic assumption is that truck owners have no taste.Melon2.0 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 4:01 pmOh man, that blows.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 2:15 pm

Modern diesel trucks are the modern "Big American Luxo Barge"

Cadillacs are BMW's
BMW's are Rolex Watches
Porsches are still the same, so we got that going for us, which is nice.

Alot of the current RAM wheels look great on the GM trucks and pretty sure they just bolt on.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 2:15 pmToo stiff. This was a great article in the latest C&D. Zero-150mph-Zero. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a4 ... test-2023/
Kind of like the trap speed in the 1/4 mile tells you how much SRS motor you have, this test separates the wheat from the chaff in terms of baller power and baller brakes.
Most interesting takeaways were:
1. The Golf R CRUSHING the CTR by 12 seconds which really alters my thought process about these alleged competitors. Really two different leagues.
2. The incredible brakes on the Dark Horse
3. What a force the (big time) Porsche Turbos are.
Plaid was out because of a nail in a tire but looks like it would have been the victor via acceleration. Still want almost every other car in the test more however, which is

The gorf was automatic which partly explains why it slayed the type r. The DSG launches hard with AWD and it doesn’t lose boost between lightning fast shifts.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 2:01 pm This was a great article in the latest C&D. The other is aero. The wang on the R hurts it’s ability to go that fast.

However the elantra N being that close to the HYPE R is not surprising at all... a lot of reviews compare the two... kind of crazy to see the price spread of 15-20k between them once you factor in mark ups.
