I even know 1000's people you can have back that dont deserve the awesome that is this area. I'll keep my guns, freedom, wide open spaces, and somewhat affordable housing.

Anyway, cars
Belt driven oil pump...in the oil. what a stupid design.
Back to car talk. Yea I heard about these belts popping at 60-80k miles and they are a “non serviceable” item. Perhaps that’s how fraud decided to make sure their cars don’t last long.

Does the 2.7TT have that design also ?

Knoxville more than double the murder rate of sf. 18 vs 6.9 per 100k residents.

May want to check your :fax:
You are looking at knox city and not the wider area of knox county as a whole. They city is a very small area with low population and most of the crime, and its almost entirely 'the bad' part of town. its also run by democrats, and that is my core argument. The county is not, its run by KANE.
Image

SF population is 4x knox city so 2x actual murders
SF 47 sq miles Knox 104 sq miles

so roughly 4x the murder per sq mile. And, Knox gets safer as you move away from the city.... would you live in Oakland?
But SF is just one centrally located city in a metro surrounded by many more towns not unlike Knoxville, just on a larger scale. I don’t see how murder per capita isn’t the most legitimate metric available. Of course SF has more per square mile as the population density is immensely higher.

I’ve spent plenty of time in almost every city around the US and it really doesn’t matter if it’s a red or blue state, there are sketchy ass areas in Miami/Tampa/Houston/Dallas just as much as New York/LA/SF and plenty of homeless. At least CA is making some efforts to improve.

Want to talk about Memphis? There and NoLa are probably the real murder capitals.

The real metric I judge by is murders per thousand ice cream cones sold.

Bold: Yes, agree. Just making the point that SF / Chicago / NOLA seem extra bad. I have personal experience in NOLA and let me tell you, I WOULD NOT live there anymore, not even the surrounding areas like metairie, westbank, or hell even baton rouge has gone down the shitter since 2020. Common denominator seems to be both a blue city AND county government. At least the blue city / red county provides a check on the ultra lunatic policies.

Italics: LOL NO, fuck memphis. Most people in TN outside of it do not desire to lay claim to that shithole. Inner Nashville aint doing great either.

And its not just the murders, its the general property and violent crime that is sky high too; a large percentage of the murders can be attributed to gang on gang violence. Its when it bleeds to the rest of the community that its a problem.

anyway, cars.

:iono: sort of but they've gotten away from their roots. Where is a smallish, lightish, affordableish fun thing from BMW? Really the M2/3/4 are the only enthusiast cars at this point.

I don’t think affordable and bmw was ever in the same sentence.

What I want to know is where is the affordable mustang ?! A 5.0 is more expensive than a faster m2

That’s all fun and games until you actually try to BUY a fun Toyota. While the ownership experience is generally great. The buying experience is the worst in the industry.

33 grand for a run of the mill civic with a horse dick transmission.

I’d rather have a Tesla Model 3.

The only Hondas being ordered are R’s and Si’s. And to get one you better bring $5-10k extra cash and knee pads.

:notwrong: but they used to have some more fun, simple, lighter models. E30-46, 128/135, 228, all had manuals, ‘enthusiast specs’. There’s a reason every track day is full of old BMWs and very few are M cars. That’s not going to happen with the current lineup they offer 10-30 years later.

They are def no longer ‘the ultimate driving machine’ company, they’re decent luxury cars with a few really good performance variants.

Yea different times. Their entire lineup was rwd and essentially 50%+ manual pre 2002. Since then suvs and autotragics ruined life.

Few m cars for racing because M tax and stupid cost of entry compared to 90% the same car for 1/4 the price.
