Mustangs are still cool. The new one, V8 with the 10 speed should be pretty dope. The Camaro SS I rented with the V8 and 10 speed was wild. Transmission was absolutely perfect and the thing was fast as hell.

The again my dads truck has the 5.0 with that transmission and it’s terrible :lolol: :fraud:

Mustang would be a hard pass from me then, but I’m only interested in automatics anymore. I bet the MT is still alright.

From gatlinburg, IE parkway drive in Pigeon Forge. FOOTHILLS parkway does not suck...even though it is technically part of GSMNP...but whatever.
Gotcha, I was thinking Foothills or Blueridge which are both epic. BRP is obviously not a fast driving road by any means, but man, those views though. I've been going my entire life and it doesn't disappoint.
Screen shotted this so I can also enjoy the sightseeing some epic views :neat:

I’ve had several Mustang rentals, turbo and V8 and the transmission is AWFUL.

I know you’ve been on Skyline Drive which is really just an extension of Blue Ridge Parkway, so they’re similar. Great road to cruise on in a convertible and just soak in the views (or an Accord :lolol: ).

Rode with a coworker to a conference 4 hrs away. We took his Rav4 Prime.

It’s a lot faster than my CRV in every scenario, even battery depleted and running as hybrid. It has some balls on the highway. The gas engine is also a lot quieter than the lawnmower sounding motor in the Honda. The HSD setup allows the gas motor to operate at very low RPMs so I couldn’t even really tell it was on.

Impressive car. Interior materials aren’t very impressive and the passenger seat is mounted too high but otherwise it’s an impressive machine.

No, but the manufacturer is offering $7500 lease cash to offset it. Leases only.

I have a Prius Prime coming next week and get a $4500 lease credit. I think I’ll end up buying it out within a few months.

Tough question to answer as it depends if it’s plugged in. It will get about 52 miles of electric before the gas motor kicks on. Going out there we had a full battery at the start so it averaged 52 mpg. Coming back it was starting with zero battery running just as a hybrid where it did about 40-41. And my friend drives like a gorilla, lots of needless speed up slam on brake shit.

I think that’s pretty dece. 40 mpg as a hybrid on road trips without trying. And almost all your daily driving is done on electric.

How slow is it in EV only mode? Is there a away to lock it in that? i am assuming you guys just cannonballed and you didn't get a chance to get a feel for it.

Interested to hear what you think. Most reviews are saying it’s still kind of slow and not fun but a very nice update.

Does the prime Prius get a bigger electric motor? That will make a big difference in how it drives.

It will fire up the gas motor if you floor it but honestly it feels pretty “normal car quick” in electric only. I think they’ll do sub 6 second 0-60 flat out. Maybe 7 ish seconds if electric only?

You can lock it in electric yes. We didn’t mess with that. I also didn’t drive I was just the passenger.

Like if the hybrid is a Golf 1.4T, the Prime is a GTI. Felt about that fast. Handling is obvi not it’s thing but straight line speed feeling would compare like that.

:disgust: indeed, these things are 100% not worth $45K. They look good and are not slow, totally good car for what it is but it's still essentially an econobox that sounds like a loud blender when you're inside. A great commuting tool but really not worth more than $30-35K IMO.

I dunno man. There are a lot of earlier gen Prii driving around as taxicabs with over 300K on the odo. Which would mean if I bought one and took care of it it could be the last car I would ever need to buy AND it would get great gas mileage and go fast enough I didn't want to kill myself. For most of America, Trackboi, that is the definition of being worth every penny of $45K.

I am not denying that it's a good car, I think they're great. But everything you said also describes Camrys and Corollas for the past 40 years. They are excellent transportation, I've said many times that the Prius is the car everyone needs.

BUT I spent a week in one of these... it's loud as hell inside, sounds bad, is full of cheapass plastics, has a hideous gauge cluster, non functional self driving stuff.

A Craftsman hammer also lasts forever, that doesn't mean it should be $300.
