I'm a little confused: is the rumored manual getting mated to a detuned hybrid or a slightly detuned turbo 4?CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 5:34 amNot Toyota's fault you live in the land of tech bros ain't care.

He's pretty smitten with it. He test drove a MK8 GTI and a 7.5 and said they're not even a consideration anymore. I think he plans on trying to get a blue one.
Edit: put a deposit down.
The one he drove:

I believe the 4R has stadium style seating like the Discovery, but without the hump in the roof.

Yes he's getting his at sticker, they said could be 2 weeks or 6mo but he's getting the first blue one they can get.
The white one has 10k adm but they said he could get bronze wheels and bike rack for 60k today if he wanted it. He said he thinks he could've got it for 57-58 which would've meant 2-3k markup at best if you count the accessory prices.

Yea there seems to be a bedazzling sales structure on these vs the hype r. Also 60k for a 2 liter 4 banger is lunacy. I can order a 63k m2 for that …CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2023 8:10 pmYes he's getting his at sticker, they said could be 2 weeks or 6mo but he's getting the first blue one they can get.

Keep us posted on the final Acura transaction. I’d be curious what this does to the whole type R/S market.
Imo they are still hunting the same consumer yet significantly increasing the supply on what used to be a severely constrained (compared to demand) vehicle.
My theory is that within 6-9 months you will be readily able to buy either at sticker and even get a small discount on the S

I was in Long Beach in May and this Honda dealer had 2 type Rs in stock and 1 used. They listed them online at sticker. I called and offered sticker.. mfker was like floored and said that they are 65k USED… then sent me a pic of this one listed at 65 and said they can probably get some money off that but no way would they do sticker new. I said ok thanks.
I thought you would like this Certified 2023 Honda Civic Type R for $52691 on Autotrader http://atcm.co/S2PVDP/28A519B3
They have been sitting on it for 3 months and are now asking 52.6k … market is correctly rapidly

Sure thing. He must have really liked it because he has three kids and none are old enough to sit in the front seat so he had to keep his truck for family duty. Really would've liked him to drive a base CT4 BW for 60k to see how they compare. At least in that you can squeeze three small people in the back.max225 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 10:20 am Keep us posted on the final Acura transaction. Also worth noting he ordered with Grubbs Acura of Tulsa and lives in the Walmart capital of the world.

That's where my head went. For $60k, I'm going for the Blackwing.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 11:17 amSure thing.
