It shows well. Checks most boxes for us. Needs some love and repairs and all new windows but otherwise it’s alright.

@Johnny, send a link over of the house, would love to see it!
I know some of us have given Max shit about the thought of selling his house and sitting things out in a rental, but have you given thought to this? It may make sense in your sitch if this new house doesn't work out.

Also, so jealous that you get basements on every house up there... My place is 1100 sq. ft., no garage, no basement so there just isn't any flexible space for projects, storage, laundry, etc.
Dang man... I still have yet to ever get it... unless I have. Hope that it's pretty painless.SAWCE wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 1:52 pm Michelle got Covid when we flew out to Florida, didn’t realize that’s what it was until we got home and she was feeling worse and tested positive Friday. I started feeling sick Saturday and woke up feeling like a bud hit me this morning. Sucks. She just lost her sense of smell last night. Plus side I probably won’t be going to SD Thursday with her anymore and just relax at home by myself.

10 min walk to library. 3 parks walkable. Can walk into town but it’s 20 mins so it’s a maybe. I’ll need a car for the train station but should still only be 30 min commute.D Griff wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 2:34 pmObviously pics can be deceiving but that looks like a really cool house to me, would take. Also 'on the main line' isn't that Philly speak for? Walkability to local places sounds cool (and I'm sure bike-ability) and presumably that means easy proximity to transit into the city for work?

Ardmore is somewhat fancy, it’s on the fancy stretch, but it’s the more affordable town in that area.
It checks most boxes of what we were looking for. Was hoping for closer to town but will see what happens I guess. Realtor said they have 3 offers that are extremely close. So idk.

I left my last company in large part because my boss was terrible. Name anything a bad boss does, and he did it. Had an HR rap sheet a mile long, yet managed to persist. The dude was a high stress, chaotic type, and a past co worker called me yesterday to tell me he passed away Friday. Early 50's, had a young daughter (that he had when I worked there ~4 years ago) and a wife that was way hotter than he should have been able to pull in.
Turns out he had a heart condition. I remember that he would take random weeks off for "personal health" reasons when I worked there, and it turns out that it was for some sort of treatments. The crazy thing to us though, is why was he such a high stress, intense dude with a heart condition? Apparently business performance is struggling and he was particularly high stress as of late, and the general consensus from a few people I've talked to that knew him was that he stressed himself to death. For a company that couldn't care less. This just blows my mind.
I couldn't stand the guy, but man...work is not worth your life. Keep stress in check, and priorities straight my dudes.

Wow. I mean, I could see that being closer to worth it if you started your own business and creating something big (i.e. Steve Jobs types), an artist creating music or visual art that impacts millions of people, that kind of thing. I would argue that nothing in life is worth stressing so much over that it costs you your life. I know some people are super passionate about stuff and creating their own thing, so I agree that it's closer to worth it, but still. Know your body and limitations and be more mindful of your overall being.D Griff wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 3:02 pmWow. This was a corporate jockey who did nothing more than build powerpoints by yelling at people and belittling them. Now there's a little girl that will barely know her real dad (she'll have a step dad in no time, I'm sure). For fucking ppts. It's disgusting.

4th for her. If I test negative this will officially be my 2nd, but I think I had it another time between this one and the first one.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 1:59 pmDamn is that your 3rd round?SAWCE wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 1:52 pm Michelle got Covid when we flew out to Florida, didn’t realize that’s what it was until we got home and she was feeling worse and tested positive Friday. It’s weird for sure. The really weird part to me is how it shows up different in every body. Last time I for sure had it, I got a massive stye on my left upper eyelid. Same thing happened this time too.
I agree 100%. I can just at least appreciate on some level someone caring that much if it's something special they truly built. Middle management at a corp is just a cog in the wheel, an expendable number on an 'XL' if you will.Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 3:19 pmI would argue that nothing in life is worth stressing so much over that it costs you your life. Didn’t get it. $25k over and all inspections waived wasn’t enough apparently. Loool.

Yea I realized this with my last high stress job… now I just try to spend as little as possible and have a back burner of cash to fall back on so I don’t need to work anymore for years … fuck working till the death it’s not the way of lifeDetroit wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 2:59 pm I left my last company in large part because my boss was terrible. Valid point. And of course moving blows, doing it more times than necessary would be

It may open up more/better options though if things do digress a bit, but you could still get prime cashola out of the current domicile.

You could do the online ESA bullshit. We had to do that for up here because nobody was allowing dogs over like 30lbs. So Michelle saw an online therapist who wrote a letter certifying our dog as an emotional support animal. You can move in anywhere and they can’t say shit, can’t charge per rent or deposit, etc. It’s a little shady, but it’s a loophole worth exploiting.

The way I see it is as long as the dog doesn’t ruin shit then it’s fine. But if the dog chews up the baseboards and pisses and shits all over the apartment then there is a problem.
Yep, there are certainly shit pet owners who in turn have shit pets. Our dog destroys nothing in the house. We do let him on the couch and I think it causes a bit more wear and tear though.
