Ugh. So much for this. Rain next weekend. I’ll pop the freedom panels at least.. I do that far less than I should.SAWCE wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 12:23 am We’re mid to high-70s with sunny skies for the next week and a half. If the forecast looks like that still this weekend I’ll find some time to pop the top and doors off. Driving to work in the morning when it’s 45° will suck a bit, but I’ll throw on a snowboard jacket and be good to go. Will be worth it for the cruise home from work and to the gym after.

There are no caps. They just spray the bedliner in ZFG; so clearing the holes for the bolts takes forever.[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 4:58 pm
Bedliner made it difficult to pop the caps off/access the holes?

Considering the attention to detail on minute details elsewhere on the JK/JT, I'm surprised they pinched pennies there.

Customer feedback indicates not many people want these things enough to pay for them. So they become a profit driver for those that do. Toyota gives them away likely due to necessity with the composite bed...need points to tie things down to.

Legit question. Wouldn’t a conversion as such make you far more of a target south of the border?Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 12:28 pmMuch appreciated[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 3:41 pm I found the source for that ARB Bumper conversion, by the way: https://expeditionportal.com/forum/thre ... t-1.19401/

These rigs seem to be quite popular with cartel errand boys (main mod seems to be bumpers for them). So while you’re not driving a chrome wrapped lambo down into tequila land you’re certainly making yourself more of a target.

Overall selection of cars in Northern Baja is ritzier than you might think. There are a LOT of trucks newer/nice than mine. Many with stuff like ARB bumpers People drive MBZs and BMWs. What you need to stay away from in MX is not necessarily outfitting your truck, it's avoiding trucks that are VALUABLE. New diesel Pickups. JTs. Certainly the 392 Wrongler. Trucks easily worth over 50 grand.max225 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 12:38 pmLegit question. Wouldn’t a conversion as such make you far more of a target south of the border?

From what I was told during my interview, is that due to the Stellantis merger, there are some supplier negotiations causing delays, on top of delays already caused by COVID.
